INTRODUCTIO N 1.1 Background 1.1.1 This Framework Travel Plan (FTP) has been prepared by Hydrock Consultants on behalf of Crossmark Investment Ltd to support the redevelopment of Landore Court, Cardiff. 1.1.2 The proposals will involve the demolition of the existing office building and the comprehensive redevelopment of the site to accommodate 150 residential units and 309 sqm of commercial use. 1.1.3 A Transport Statement (TS) has been prepared and has been submitted as part of the planning application for the redevelopment proposals. 1.1.4 The FTP should be seen as an evolving document which will inform the preparation of a full Travel Plan. The full Travel Plan will be produced and implemented prior to first occupation. 1.1.5 The Travel Plan and measures will be aimed at residents and visitors to the site. The employees working in the commercial uses on the site would benefit from any measures but due to the small scale of these uses, a separate Travel Plan would not be produced for these uses. 1.1.6 National research suggests that people are more willing to change travel habits when changing lifestyle such as where they live; therefore, this document presents a package of measures and targets that meet Cardiff Council’s (CC’s) sustainable transport objectives, including a reduction in single occupancy car journeys and the increased use of sustainable means of travel. 1.2 Contact Details 1.2.1 Whilst a Travel Plan Coordinator (TPC) has yet to be appointed, correspondence associated with the TP should, in the first instance, be sent to: Hydrock Consultants Ltd First Floor Castlebridge 5 5 – 19 Cowbridge Road East Cardiff CF11 9AB 1.2.2 Details of the TPC will be made available once they have been appointed and CC will be informed at the earliest opportunity. 1.3 Site Location 1.3.1 The site is located along Charles Street in Cardiff City Centre around 200 metres to the south of Queen Street and 100 metres east of the St David's Shopping Centre. 1.3.2 The site is located in the Charles Street conservation area and consists of four terraced
