All rights reserved. 18 18 18 Knoppix Union Filesystem From v3.8, Knoppix uses the Union filesystem • Merges the contents of several directories, while keeping their physical contents separate: merges read- only CD filesystem with read/write ramdisk • Every segment of the filesystem becomes read-write: UnionFS keeps track of which files you have modified (which are stored within the ramdisk).
