Annual Listing of Obligated Projects In the Louisville/Jefferson County, KY-IN MPA Fiscal Year 2018 (October 1, 2017 – September 30, 2018) December 2018 Fiscal Year 2018 List of Obligated Federally Funded Projects The Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act directs Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), such as the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA), to publish a list of federally funded projects that were obligated in the preceding fiscal year. An obligated project is one in which the federal government has made a commitment to pay the federal share of the project cost. KIPDA, cooperatively with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), has developed a list of projects that were obligated in Fiscal Year 2018 for the Louisville/Jefferson County, KY‐IN Metropolitan Planning Area. This list of obligated federally funded projects can be found in the following tables and includes maintenance projects, roadway improvements, transit projects, pedestrian walkways, bicycle facilities and many others. The Indiana projects were obligated in state Fiscal Year 2018, from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. The Kentucky projects, as well as the TARC projects, were obligated in federal Fiscal Year 2018, from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. The projects are shown by state and county, and listed alphabetically by Project Sponsor. The transit projects follow the Indiana and Kentucky projects. The information that is shown includes the federal funding source, project descriptions (when applicable), the federal funds that were obligated, and other funding details. Information concerning the federal obligations was provided by the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and the Transit Authority of River City.
