Women: As far as women are concerned, there's no difference between black-tie attire and black-tie option attire. The "optional" part comes in for the men. Apart from white tie attire, black tie is the most formal of all dress codes. As such, it requires a sophisticated level of dressing. A black-tie dress code is a great excuse to get glammed up and wear a gown. While knee length cocktail dresses can be an appropriate option for black tie, long dresses tend to be a more elevated choice. For our event, if you don’t own a gown, don’t panic! A simple black dress with a few “glam” accessories will work. Selecting a refined dress that features a simple and a modest feminine silhouette and an elegant color, such as black, will help you nail the etiquette of this dress code Do your best to choose a quality dress with a timeless appeal. A sophisticated function, such as one that calls for black-tie attire, is not a place to wear cheap designs or the latest crazy trends. Instead, stick to classic silhouettes and styles that won’t date.
