But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.” - Mother Teresa In the past year, the face of our heroes and essential workers has transformed into a teacher, a student, a nurse, and a bus driver. rough so much uncertainty, it became clear that it is our schools that provide so much more for our commu- nity than simply an education. Our small, Catholic school by the ocean, became essential to promoting community resilience and rebuilding our emotional, social, and spiritual health in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic. LBCRS continues to weather the storm of uncertainty by providing families a stable, safe and equitable in-person learn- ing environment. Our dedicated teachers (heroes) have worked tirelessly to provide LBCRS students with an engaging, rigorous education. By encouraging dialogue and a culture of understanding and compassion, we foster the desire to build strong hearts and minds. As a result, we are reminded of the vital role our annual Crystal Ball fundraiser plays in ensuring the survival and success of our school. In addition, the Crystal Ball allows us the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary individuals whose love and service require our recognition and gratitude. Although we were unable to cele- brate in person, the Long Beach Catholic School family wishes to congratulate and honor our 43rd Annual Crystal Ball award recipients for their admirable dedication and loyalty.
