OF BLOS 508 Count C) Brief Note i) District Write very briefly about the district Arwal district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state, India and Arwal town is the administrative headquaters of this district.It was earlier part of jehanabad district.As of 2011 it is the third least populous district.Occuping the area of 638 km.sq. Arwal comesunder the Magadh division and NH 139 being the majpr highway.In Arwal district near Mehandiya MADHUSHARWA MELA , which is famous for ancient SHIV TEMPLE. This gives it a ranking of 502nd in India (out of a total of 640). The district has a population density of 1,099 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,850/sq mi) . Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 19.01%. The climate of Arwal is of extreme nature, i.e very hot in the summer and biting cold in the winters. v) Socio- Brief about any specific socio-economic-cultural-peculiarities relevant from Election management point of view: economic-cultural The relatively small sized district is a cauldron of conflict as far as the socio-economic situation is concerned. There were caste tensions (with an economic bearing) prevalling in the area and they were manifested in their worst forms in this district. Thus this place has been badly affected by Naxalism (PWG, MCC, ML (LIB) etc. and has seen emergence of rival outfits such as Ranvir Sena. In the result this district has witnessed horrifying spate of large scale carnages in the past which has resulted in the killing of hundreds of innocents. Laxmanpur-Baathe, Rampur-Chauram, Senari, & Shankarbigha – there is a long list of villages where big massacres have occurred. vi) Infrastructure Brief about the infrastructure availability: Availibility Arwal is situated 80 km south of Patna.The nearest airport is at Patna from where regular flights are available to all important towns and cities across the country. The nearest railway station is located at Jehanabad. By road, Arwal is efficiently liked with Jehanabad, Patna and Bhojpur. vii) Resource Brief about the resource availability- manpower, logistics, IT related, etc., : Availibility Manpower of Arwal district stand for overall strength of workig population as most of the population is engared into agriculture 70% population is dependent upon agriculture and agro based activity, as per IT related availibility no major IT industry and institution has been set.Availability of Minerals:- Sand, stone minerals are available in Arwal District.
