From here, we will take a trip to be enchanted by the Powerscourt House and Gardens, followed by a visit to the Glendalough Monastic Site. Tonight, you will stay in Dublin for a night. Day 2 We take our journey over to the Newgrange Megalithic Underground Passage Tombs. We take June 16, 2021 the road northwest stopping at the Belvedere House on the way. We settle into a quaint Guest House in South Sligo, where we will be here for a few nights. Day 3 Today we head West and to spend some time at the Westport House and Gardens. We then June 17, 2021 turns towards the Cong Village to tour the Cottage where John Ford’s The Quiet Man was filmed. Day 4 We travel this morning to tour the magnificence of the Creevykeel Court Tomb Ancient Site. We June 18, 2021 choose to take a breathtaking route around the back of the Benbulben Mountain’s Horseshoe Drive and the beautiful Mullaghmore Coastal Drive. Day 5 Get ready today for a boat-ride around the mystical Lough Key, getting close to the 11th June 19, 2021 century old McDermott Castle. We will travel past Abbey Island and explore the grounds of the Forest Park with its lovely walks, Zip lines, Fairy bridges, wishing chairs and bog garden, canopy walks, and more. We’ll finish the day visiting the 12th century Boyle Cistercian Abbey. Day 6 Prepare yourself to spend the day in the most notoriously haunted castle in Ireland, Leap June 20, 2021 Castle. The day will be filled with music, as the owner Sean Ryan, is a folk musician! Be ready to experience the haunts of this notorious ancient 12th majestic property. Day 7 This is the day we’ve been waiting for, the Summer Solstice! We will head out early for our June 21, 2021 Morning’s Dawn’s celebration at either (weather decides) the Carrowkeel or Carrowmore Megalithic Cemeteries. Be ready for a very exuberant and spiritual experience! Day 8 You’ve earned this day of celebration in the beautiful city of Dublin! Today, take in some June 22, 2021 shopping and explorations of the city. (We’ll have some tips for you!) Today we stay at the 5- Star Fitzpatrick’s Castle, where we’ll have our Farewell Dinner together to tell our new stories! Day 9 Today we bid farewell to a most unforgettable experience in a magical land. With hugs and June 23, 2021 farewells from new friends, you will be escorted to Dublin Airport. Newgrange is best known for the illumination of its passage and chamber by the winter solstice sun. Belvedere House, Gardens & Jealousy Wall Built in 1740, Jealousy and revenge are the key themes highlighted in this unusual house which is reputed to be extremely haunted. It is said that the Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley used to lock up her prisoners in its dark dungeon. The only explanation he could offer was that it was "the little people." He continued, "This is their property here, you see. It wasn’t excavated at that time, now. It was all covered over in trees. Two skeletons had been unearthed with large rocks wedged into their mouths, due to the belief that their spirits left through their mouth. It is believe, they were buried this way with the hope of trapping the spirit in the body, preventing them to return to haunt the living they left behind. Boyle Cistercian Abbey Built in 1134, this structure was a former Cistercian Monastery, gifted by Henry I of England. It remains impressive and well preserved under the patronage of it’s ruling family. Fierce family feuds have plagued this 15th- century castle. A brother turned against brother; killing him as he held Mass in the chapel. Several apparitions have been reported, including “IT”, a small grey human figure with a skeletal face.
