He was in private small animal practice in northeastern Ohio for 1 year prior to returning to The Ohio State University for a 3-year residency in Anesthesiology. He is currently board certified in veterinary anesthesiology and a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner. He is also certified in veterinary acupuncture and is a Diplomate of the Academy of Integrative Pain Management. Dr. Gaynor joined the faculty at Colorado State University in 1992 and was Section chief and associate professor of anesthesiology and pain management when he left the University in 2004. He is a past member of the Leadership Council for the Companion Animal Pain Management Consortium and a past Board member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. Aside from anesthesia and pain management, Dr. Gaynor has a passion for disaster response. He is an active member of the National Veterinary Response Team. Dr. Gaynor is an avid skier and spends much of his weekend time as an EMT, providing medical care as part of the Copper Mountain Ski Patrol. Dr. Gaynor enjoys spending time with his family and 4 dogs. When not working, he can frequently be found bicycling on the road or trails, hiking or skiing. He attended Southern Illinois University and received his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 1984. He practiced dairy cattle medicine in upstate Pennsylvania. He founded, and is retired from, the Carol Stream Animal Hospital in Carol Stream, IL and Chicagoland Veterinary Behavior Consultants. He received his board specialization from the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in 2006. When not working he enjoys off-road motorcycle riding, camping and seeing as much of the world that he can along with his wife, and veterinarian, Elise. They have two daughters, Danielle and Rebekah. BOVÉ DVM,MS DACVIM (CARDIOLOGY) Dr. Christina Bové received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. She then completed a rotating small animal internship at LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Following her internship, Dr. Bové worked as an Emergency Clinician in Houston, Texas as well as completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Canada before working in preclinical heart failure research at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas. Dr. Bové then completed a combined cardiology residency and Master’s program at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. Dr. Bové is a Board-Certified Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology). Dr. Bové has a passion for assisting clients and their pets with heart disease. She values her cooperative relationship with family veterinarians and how together we provide optimal care for our beloved furry family members. She has a particular interest in congenital heart disease, advanced congestive heart failure and complex arrhythmias. Dr. Bové lives in Colorado with her husband (Brian), cat (Izzy) and dog (Darcy). She is an avid runner, hiker, soccer player, wellness coach and certified personal trainer. He completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Missouri and a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Georgia. Dr. Thomason was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in small animal Internal Medicine in 2006. After his postgraduate training, he served as a clinical instructor at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine for one year and then an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Oklahoma State University for three years. He was selected by the fourth-year veterinary students as Instructor of the Year in both 2008 and 2009. Dr. Thomason completed residency training in cardiology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Thomason enjoys spending free time with his wonderful wife, Sasha, and son, Will. He also enjoys jogging and studying, as well as watching college football and the occasional episode of Duck Dynasty. While attending Auburn University, Dr. Reeder received numerous awards including the distinguished Veterinary Dermatology award, Veterinary Neurology award and Merck-Merial fellowship in genetic research. Dr. Reeder practiced small animal medicine/surgery in Louisville, Kentucky for 3 years. During this time, Dr. Reeder was able to further develop his interest in dermatology. Dr. Reeder completed a residency in veterinary dermatology in 2008 at Animal Dermatology Clinic in Tustin, CA and became board-certified. He worked as the senior dermatologist with ADC in Louisville, KY until August 2016, and now heads up the dermatology department for Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in Franklin, TN. He has served American College of Veterinary Dermatology on their credentials committee and ad hoc committees and previously served as a representative on the executive board of the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Following graduation, she worked as a general practitioner in Miami for a non-profit small animal clinic. In 2003, Dr. Rosales returned to the University of Florida and completed a two-year residency in the specialization of veterinary dermatology. She achieved board certification in veterinary dermatology from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. She has authored several articles and lectured at local and state veterinary associations. Dr. Rosales holds a primary interest in allergic and immune mediated skin conditions in dogs and cats; and chronic (recurrent) ear infections in dogs. After completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital and VCA Berwyn Animal Hospital, he spent four years working as a general practitioner at various VCA animal hospitals in the greater Chicagoland area. Dr. Simpson finished his residency in veterinary dermatology along with a master's degree at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in June of 2017. He has published multiple papers in veterinary literature, including his more recent research on monitoring urinary tract infections with allergy therapy, novel treatment for pemphigus foliaceus, along with a study on absent eardrums in dogs. Wagner VMD, Diplomate ABVP – ECM Dr. Wagner holds joint positions at the University of Pittsburgh as a clinical associate professor of Veterinary Medicine in the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources and as a research associate professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. Dr. Wagner is board certified in exotic companion medicine by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP – ECM).
