Go anywhere. 1 Achievements of the Current International Education and Training Strategy Successful Initiatives to Strengthen the Regions With 31 per cent of all international students outside of Brisbane, we have a unique opportunity to build diversified and sustainable communities through the growth of international education and training. In partnership with local government, Queensland Government will continue to support the sustainable growth of international education and training in Queensland’s regions. Since launching the Strategy in 2016, the regions have seen: • A total of 54 projects funded with a total of $2.5 million invested in projects which support the regions by enhancing their capability and capacity to grow their local international education and training industry • Partnerships with 10 local governments to enhance student engagement and sustain growth in the regions • Development of regional brand positions for seven destinations in Queensland, helping them to articulate their unique strengths as a study destination • A consistent network to share learnings and enhance knowledge, through the Regional Community of Practice, which meets three times a year • Major events hosted, including our flagship International Education and Training Summit DRAFT- Gold Coast 2017, Cairns 2018 and Townsville 2020 DRAFT Start here.
