The Half Marathon event since environment for our students with tailored timetables based upon individual interests and personal development goals. </p><p>The activities on offer are really varied, ranging from horticulture work in our garden centre and vineyard, catering in our lovely onsite cafe, a mix of arts and crafts as well as music, photography, media and woodwork. it started in 2006 has now raised over £519,000 – so the support from all of the participants, organisers and assistants is greatly appreciated. Already we are making progress with the next race that will take place on the 27th September 2020 where we have 45 registrations already. Many of the children have had multiple placement breakdowns before coming to Action for Children and it is the charity’s aim to achieve positive outcomes from children placed with their foster carers. <br>We were most pleased to present contributions from the Rotary Club to residents within the town who received food parcels and in addition supported many other charities. <br>In addition I am pleased to report that our Christmas collections are ongoing and have been extremely well received. Already we are on target to exceed last year’s donations. <br>A message from Nikki Marley states: The Fifth Trust has benefitted from a generous £3,500 from the Rotary Club of Folkestone. </p><p>Recently we were also pleased to present a cheque in the sum of £350 to Mark Stone of United Response to fund their annual Christmas Day opening for Single and lonely people. </p><p>This money was raised through the Folkestone Half Marathon which took place on September 29th. The Fifth Trust, we are a local, Kent-based charity that supports adults with learning difficulties. We provide day care facilities on two sites in the Elham Valley near Canterbury for over 120 students, half of whom live locally in residential homes associated with the Trust. Our aim is to provide a safe and fulfilling way of life, helping each individual to achieve their full potential.
