Level: Beginning Prerequisite: None Session 1: Saturday, October 6 10am-1pm Beginning Right Angle Weave Instructor: Karen Lynch $25 In this introduction to flat right angle weave, we will practice turning and changing rows while working on a right angle weave square. This square can be continued to make a gorgeous cuff on your own. The structural nature of this weave allows for lots of possibilities for necklaces, bracelets and pendants. One of the most popular stitches, right angle weave is an ideal stitch to start you on the road to beadweaving. Level: Beginning Prerequisite: None Session 1: Saturday, September 22 10am-1pm Session 2: Tuesday, November 13 6pm-9pm BEADWEAVING CLASSES Anemone Bracelet Instructor: Tina Koyama $25 Make a bracelet that is as fun, frilly, elegant or eclectic as you choose! A strong core of beading wire forms the base. Then use a needle and thread to weave in your choice of fringe beads, creating an impressive, eye-catching bracelet with layers of texture and color. Level: Beginning Prerequisite: None Session 1: Thursday, September 27 6pm-9pm Phoenix Pendant* Instructor: Tina Koyama $25 Shimmering with Swarovski crystals, this brick stitch pendant makes use of varying sizes and types of seed beads to build its radiating, half-mandala shapes. Finished with chain, the necklace works up quickly, and students will be able to wear it home. Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Knowledge of flat brick stitch. Session 1: Saturday, October 20 2pm-5pm Fearless Freeform Beadwork* Instructor: Tina Koyama $45 Bead fearlessly – you’ve got nothing to lose but your beading inhibitions! Using your choice of either peyote stitch or right angle weave, you’ll learn new techniques and skills as you gain confidence in beading without instructions or a pattern. Students who are proficient with both peyote and right angle weave may choose to combine both stitches in the same piece for the ultimate freeform experience. Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Proficiency with either peyote or right angle weave. Session 1: Saturday, October 27 11am-5pm Spiral Rope Instructor: Tina Koyama $25 Spiral rope is an elegant, easy-to-learn stitch that can be embellished as little or as much as you like. In this class, we’ll make a bracelet combining seed beads with your choice of crystals, fire polished beads, pearls or a mix of accent beads. Create your own variations with different patterns of beads. Spiral rope is an ideal introduction to seed beadweaving. Most students will finish the bracelet in class. Level: Beginning Prerequisite: None Session 1: Thursday, November 1 6pm-9pm Duomo Bracelet* Instructor: Tina Koyama $25 Using a variety of beads, create a stunning, sculptural bracelet that is built with an easy pattern. Named for the cathedral in Florence, the domed crest shimmers with fire polished beads, crystals or pearls. Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Knowledge of flat peyote stitch. Session 1: Wed., November 14 6pm-9pm new Romancing the Stones* Instructor: Karen Lynch $45 This chunky stone bracelet is a little bit Renaissance, and a little bit Right Now. Large flat gemstone beads are bezelled with embellished right angle weave and joined by a band of crystals embraced by a hexagon/daisy chain weave. Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Proficient with right angle weave Session 1: Sunday, October 14 11am-5pm Cosmos Flower* Instructor: Karen Lynch $45 Create a brilliant and memorable flower modeled after the Cosmos, one of the most striking in the summer garden. We will create the flower only, so you can make it into a necklace, a brooch, a hair accessory or anything you can imagine.
