AESTHETICS OF RELIABILITY DEAR COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS, I am glad to welcome you on behalf of Stroyproekt Engineering Group – the leading Russian company in the field of road engineering and construction supervision. Established in 1990, Stroyproekt has come a long way rich in events and professional achievements from a small design office to the Engineering Group which now includes several companies in various regions. Today we are about 1550 professionals. We are working on the most challenging projects of the road industry which play an important role for a sustainable development of whole regions. In this booklet, you can find out more about our projects, our team, our recent accomplishments, and plans for the future. This modern multi-lane toll road links • Total length: 46.6 km the southwest of the city, including the Sea Port area, with the Ring Road, Vasilievsky Island, Kurortny district • Lanes: 4 to 8 and the Scandinavia motorway in the north. It is one of the first concession projects in Russia. • Maximum traffic intensity: 140,000 vehicles per day • Total length of engineering structures (bridges, approach flyovers, tunnels): 21 km The road includes a great number of engineering structures since it runs across densely developed urban • Traffic interchanges: 14 (including 6 planned ones) districts, rivers and the Neva Bay. Due to the fact that several stretches of the road run in a narrow corridor within built-up industrial areas, our designers The aesthetic design makes suggested double-deck truss the road look dynamic and structures accommodating recognisable: arch-shaped 4-lane roadways of opposite lighting poles and curved noise directions on the top and bottom screens along the entire road decks. create its unique geometry In plan, the trusses are located The Western High Speed Diameter includes unique high-level and architectural image. on a curve of a variable radius bridges that have become new landmarks of the St. Petersburg Sea Façade. with superelevation and Double-Deck Bridge over the main navigation channel transitions, which is quite of the city – the Sea Channel unusual for double-deck • Length: 1,020 m structures. The longest truss • Central span: 168 m span is 144 m. • Bridge underclearance: 52 m Cable-stayed bridge over Korabelny Fairway • Length: 620 m • Central span: 320 m • Bridge underclearance: 35 m Cable-stayed bridge over Petrovsky Fairway • Length: 580 m • Central span: 240 m • Bridge underclearance: 25 m Client: WHSD JSC 15 OLYMPIC OlYMPIc ROaDS SOCHI PROJECTS One of our major projects is preparation and development of Sochi road and transport infrastructure Kurortny Prospekt Alternative Road for the Winter Olympics 2014. Main challenges that our engineers faced were a complicated mountain terrain, seismic risks, unstable soils, existing buildings and strict environmental requirements. The new road relieved the main thoroughfare of Sochi (Kurortny Prospekt) and reduced traffic congestion in the city centre that used to be a critical challenge for this large Russian seaside resort. The project was completed in 3 stages. Main parameters: • Length: 16.3 km CONSTRUCTION OF SOCHI BYPASS • Lanes: 4 • Length of engineering structures (flyovers and tunnels): over 20 km (in both directions) Stroyproekt developed detailed designs for two bypass sections. Main parameters: The road runs over flyovers and in tunnels, and includes 19 bridges and viaducts, 15 • Total length of two road sections: about 19 km tunnels and 7 grade-separated interchanges. • Lanes: 2+2 • Length of engineering structures (bridges, flyovers and tunnels): about 15 km 16 17 Bridge across the Sochi River Traffic Interchange The bridge is located on Kurortny Prospekt Alternative Road. at the Intersection of Donskaya Main parameters: • Length: 244.6 m and Vinogradnaya Streets • Central span: 75 m • Width (at the straight section): 27.7 m Main parameters: • Main road viaduct: 294 m • Lanes in main direction: 2 • Length of engineering structures: 1,957 m Traffic Interchange Stadium (three-level junction) Main parameters: • Main road viaduct: 90.1 m • Lanes: 4 • Length of engineering structures: 415 m Traffic Interchange Airport This interchange ensures a comfortable transport link between the city and the airport. Main parameters: • Main road viaducts: 73 m and 30 m • Lanes: 2–4 • Length of engineering structures: 1,000 m Client: Federal Highway Agency Directorate for Construction and Reconstruction of Motor Roads of the Black Sea Coast 19 REHAbilitation ROaDS TO THE HEaRT OF RUSSIa OF FEDERAL highways Stroyproekt’s engineers develop complex rehabilitation projects for various federal roads. We bring these key Section 933 km – 1024 km transport links closer to the world standards. These projects are part of the large-scale transport development Rostov Region programme for the central Russia. • Length: 91.7 km • Category: 1-A • Lanes: 4–6 M-4 DON HIGHway The project includes 7 traffic interchanges, and 21 bridges and flyovers. Section 633 km – 715 km Voronezh Region when developing the design for this road stretch, our engineers carried out a comparative analysis • Length: 84 km • Road category: 1-А of Russian and German road design standards. The analysis was performed in cooperation with the BEB • Lanes: 4 company, Germany for the Russian Ministry of Transport and the State Company Russian Highways The project includes 3 traffic interchanges and 36 bridges and flyovers. (GK Avtodor). For comparison purposes, the engineers developed two separate designs using Russian and German standards. This allowed choosing the optimal design solutions for the project. Section 877 km – 907 km Rostov Region The results of such design experience can be used for amending and updating Russian road design standards by harmonizing them with the European codes. • Length: 30.7 km • Road category: 1-B • Lanes: 4 The project includes 4 traffic interchanges, 7 bridges and flyovers, and 2 pedestrian overpasses. Section 1024 km – 1091 km Rostov Region • Length: 62 km • Road category: 1-А • Lanes: 4–6 The project includes 4 traffic interchanges, and 32 bridges and flyovers. 21 Section 1091 km – 1119 km Reconstruction of traffic interchange at km 1319 Rostov Region of the M-4 Don The road stretch was opened to traffic on May 19, 2017. The stretch was reconstructed into a 1B category road featuring two overpasses, a grade-separated junction and The upgraded interchange completely changed an agricultural
