This Conference is the ideal venue to meet colleagues and present ideas that will help shape technology in the 21st Century. The ASME Pressure Vessels and Piping Division sponsors this Conference with co-sponsorship by the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers and participation by the ASME NDE Division. More that 600 participants from over 30 countries are expected to be in attendance at the conference. This year’s Conference Technical Program contains 136 technical sessions, 2 major symposia, five tutorials, a student paper competition, as well as, NDE and software demonstration forums. The Conference proceedings will be published in 16 volumes. By virtue of the continuing international participation, the conference will continue to shape the technology in the pressure vessel industry. As a compliment to the technical program, we have developed a series of social events. Starting with a musical event on Sunday evening, the Conference-Wide Reception will be held on Monday evening. The Cleveland City Tour will take place on Monday morning, followed by a tour of the Art Museum, Science Museum, and the Botanical Gardens on Tuesday. A trip down memory lane will occur on Wednesday evening to the Western Reserve town of Hale Farm and Homestead in the Cuyahoga National Recreation area. The tour schedule will wind up with a trip to Amish Country and Amish Hospitality, including lunch in one of their homes on Thursday. The Conference Program Committee William J. Bees Ismail T.
