27 WORKS COMMITTEE (INFRASTRUCTURE, WATER, WASTE AND WASTEWATER) 4 11 NOVEMBER 2020 CAIRNS TRAFFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CTAC) MINUTES H Visser | 8/1/13 | #6513395 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that Council notes the minutes of the Cairns Traffic Advisory Committee (CTAC) of 13 October 2020. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This report provides the notes, agreements and actions from the Cairns Traffic Advisory Committee (CTAC) meeting of 13 October 2020. The main topics discussed were: 1. Cairns CBD 40km/h speed limit – updated crash data 2. TMR Town Entry Speed Statements 3. Zip Merge – various sites 4. Redlynch Intake Road School Zone 5. Speed limit reviews – various roads 6. Captain Cook Highway – various traffic matters. BACKGROUND: CTAC provides a forum for discussion and information exchange between the relevant groups and Council about issues of concern relating to road safety and traffic matters. The scope of the committee includes any strategic traffic related issue which affects all or the majority of committee members and is within the boundaries of Cairns Regional Council’s area of responsibility. COMMENT: Invitations for the meeting of 13 October 2020 went out to representatives from Council, Transport & Main Roads (incl. Translink), Police, Sunbus, Cairns Taxis, RACQ, Queensland Education and Queensland Rail. The meeting had representation from Council, TMR, and Queensland Education. Cr Zeiger, Cr O’Halloran, Cr Coghlan and Cr Olds also attended the meeting. `Agenda Works Committee – (Infrastructure, Water, Waste & Wastewater) 11 November 2020 - #6511580 28 OPTIONS: Option 1: (Recommended) It is recommended to note the minutes of the Road Safety Traffic and Transport Advisory Committee (CTAC) of 13 October 2020. Option 2: It is recommended not to note the agreements and actions of the CTAC minutes and requests Council officers provide further details. CONSIDERATIONS: Corporate Plan: The CTAC relates primarily to the Strategic Goal of Liveability, and the Strategic objective of Improving Transport.
