Media information 08. November 2016 McLAREN 570S GT4 AND 570GT STAR AT AUTO ZURICH • Two versions of the McLaren Sports Series on display: Track-only 570S GT4 and the most refined and usable McLaren to date, the 570GT • McLaren Automotive is represented by Schmohl AG, trading as McLaren Zurich, in the Swiss German market • Visitors will have the opportunity to view the 570S GT4 and the 570GT from 10 to 13 November 2016 in the Hall 3, stand A09 McLaren Automotive will showcase two of the latest additions to the Sports Series model range at the 30th edition of Auto Zurich from Thursday 10 until Sunday 13 November 2016. Following the launch of the McLaren 570S GT4 earlier this year the new track-only model will make its Swiss debut ahead of customer racing commencing during the 2017 season. The 570GT also returns to Switzerland following the global premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show 2016. THE McLAREN 570S GT4 The track-only 570S GT4 shares the carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis architecture with the other models in the Sports Series. This marks the first time the technology has been made available in the GT4 category, and the race-derived material is of clear benefit with inherent strength and lightweight. Driver protection is further enhanced with the addition of an FIA-approved rollcage and fire extinguisher system. Carbon fibre and aluminium are used for the re-profiled bodywork, which is formed over wider track front and rear to accommodate centre-locking lightweight cast magnesium alloy wheels shod with Pirelli racing tyres. Adjustable motorsport dampers with coil-over springs are fitted front and rear, and an on-board air jacking system is fitted as standard. With a pure focus on laptimes, the McLaren 570S GT4 features a unique aerodynamic package which includes a GT4-specification high-level rear wing, a larger front splitter and re-profiled floor assembly. An additional front centre high-temperature radiator sits below a GT3-inspired bonnet with radiator exit ducts. These upgrades have been designed to optimise the aerodynamic performance and cooling of the 570S GT4 to ensure it can perform in the harshest race conditions globally. The McLaren-designed and developed 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 M838TE engine is carried over from the road-going Sports Series model. The seven-speed seamless shift gearbox is also familiar to the other models in the range, transferring power to the track via the rear wheels. Part of the development programme for the new Sports Series model has been contesting the full nine round calendar of the British GT championship. Racing with customer team Black Bull Ecurie Ecosse, the programme was the truest and most rigorous testing schedule in live race environments, and the season ended on a high with double race victories. The 570S GT4 is priced from £159,900 (ex works). THE McLAREN 570GT Alongside the 570S GT4, McLaren Automotive’s most refined and usable McLaren to date, the new 570GT will also be on display. The 570GT will be shown in Silica White and will feature extensive carbon fibres upgrades, 10-spoke super lightweight alloy wheels in stealth finish and a black Nappa Alcantara interior design. Overall performance for the 570GT is class-leading with the 0 to 100 km/h sprint taking 3.4 seconds, while 200 km/h is reached in just 9.8 seconds before going on to a top speed of 328 km/h. This latest addition to the range completes the three tier model strategy for McLaren alongside the Super Series and Ultimate Series. The Sports Series is the most usable and attainable model to wear a McLaren badge to date, but it retains the core design and dynamic focus that ensures it is still worthy of the iconic name. Weighing as little as 1,350kg, thanks to the unique lightweight carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis, the Sports Series is almost 150kg lighter than its closest rival. At the same time, the interior is more tailored around day-to-day usability, with optimised access, greater levels of stowage space and more refinement. The price for the powerful 570GT, which celebrated its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show, starts at 212.580 CHF (incl. 4% Import Zoll + 8% MwSt).
