Preface The Safe Start Demonstration Project Five Year Report (2000 – 2005) was developed by the Association for the Study and Development of Community (ASDC) for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) for the National Evaluation of the Safe Start Demonstration Project. The report covers the first five years (2000 – 2005) of the Safe Start Demonstration Project. Volume 2 includes each site’s case study. We would like to recognize Katherine Darke Schmitt (Missing and Exploited Children and Child Abuse and Neglect Programs Coordinator and Safe Start Evaluation Manager) for her leadership and support. We would also like to thank Kristen Kracke, Safe Start Program Manager, for her assistance.
