Edina .........................................................21-2-1 nearly half of a roster filled with 9th and 10th graders, it had all 2. Minnetonka ................................................20-2-3 the hallmarks of one. 3. Blaine ........................................................19-2-2 4. Andover ......................................................23-2-1 The Red Knights were not completely devoid of upper- 5. St. Thomas Academy ..................................21-3-1 classmen who could challenge the state’s best. Juniors Nate 6. Maple Grove ...............................................19-4-1 Schweitzer and Blake Mesenburg were considered among the best 7. White Bear Lake .........................................18-4-1 at their respective positions. In addition, the team returned many 8. Rosemount .................................................22-3-0 letterwiners from their Metro West conference championship 9. Eden Prairie ...............................................14-9-2 10. Benilde-St. Margaret’s ..............................18-7-0 the previous season — so there was plenty evidence that the 11. Moorhead ...................................................19-6-1 Red Knights would do more than look to the future. 12. Duluth East ................................................16-6-2 The Red Knights made a statement that 2018-19 would be 13. Chaska .......................................................18-7-0 something more than a growth year when they won the North/ 14. Hill-Murray .................................................14-8-2 South challenge with victories over Hermantown and the host 15. Roseau .......................................................19-4-2 team from Brainerd. Two weeks later the team swept the field in the Christmas Holiday Classic with impressive wins over Holy Family, Wayzata, and Lakeville South. When the team followed up with a big win over a highly touted Chaska team, the Red Knights planted their flag among the top ranked team in the state. They would remain ranked among the top 10 teams for the balance of the regular season The young Red Knight team proved pressure-ready when they stormed past Holy Angels by a score of 7-1 in the quarterfinals. Two days later the boys in red skated to a dramatic 3-2 semi-final victory over Wayzata to earn a place in the Section 6AA title game against Edina at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis. Despite a valiant effort, the team’s bid to return to state tournament stage was denied by a more mature Edina team. The Hornets would go onto win the state championship in convincing fashion as the Red Knights could only look back on a season of growth and achievement. The 2018-19 Red Knights has set the table for the 2019-20 campaign. BSM returns all of its top scoring, goaltending, and defensemen. The Red Knights will embrace the challenge and privilege of high expectations. photo by Tom Morris 2 Red Knight Hockey 2019 Yearbook 2018-19 Varsity Roster Varsity Game Results No. Name Pos Year Opponent Score 3 Logan Lyke ............................D ......... 11 HOPKINS ............................................... 5-4 win 4 Seamus Foley ..........................D ......... 11 at Edina ............................................... 2-5 loss 5 Jett Johnson ............................
