So to have a perfect excuse to be out ‘in the view’ is heaven! 18 One Man One Thousand Bookshops - Rachel Silcock & David Harding Well, here it is…. our annual Photo Competition is in the magazines this month, a wonderful excuse to get out and about into our beautiful market 39 Bourton Equestrian Centre - Leanne Launchbury towns and villages spotting the architectural oddities, unusual artefacts and 41 Le Tour de Spectateurs - Robert Forster one-off items that caught my eye when we went out a couple of weeks ago to take the photos for this year’s competition. I hope you will enjoy identifying the photos – and please remember than every entry could win a prize, even the incomplete ones! REGULARS In July the magazines welcomed two work experience students from 17 Book Reviews from Borzoi Books Chipping Campden School for a week – David Harding and Rachel Silcock, and we worked on creating a two page feature article from scratch to (almost) 20 Robb Eden on Tax - Job Vacancies and Volunteers print-ready in five days. Rachel and David had lots of good ideas and it was 21 Dates for Local Authority meetings, Blood Donor sessions a very enjoyable week – and you can read the finished article on pages 18 and 19. 22 Bourton Parish Council meeting in July Also in July there was a bit of a cycle ride ‘up north’ somewhere, so Bob 23 Glos Police & Crime Commissioner promoting Safer Communities, Forster got on his bike to do a spectators’ view of ‘Le Tour de Yorkshire’. I know where that is! Where was that taken? I’ve seen that before... look up - look doWn - look behInd you! Inside the August editions of Stow Times, Moreton Times, Bourton Times and Chipping Norton Times are a set of numbered photographs, all taken recently, one in each of the communities where we deliver the magazines every month. But - these are not average picture postcard images, and they may not be that easy to identify! The Challenge... To identify the communities where the photos were taken. You will need to get out and about in our stunning corner of the Cotswolds and look for something or somewhere which is on our doorstep - and which you might not have noticed before! And EVERYONE can have a go! There will be loTS of winners nb. ONLY 2 of the team know where the photographs for the most correct answers of course, and for the were taken which means that everyone can join in! youngest/oldest entrant, the best family entry, the best local business entry, the best pub or club entry and more. That includes our contributors, our deliverers and editorial team, and everyone who has contributed prizes too. No- Timetable: one needs to be left out! So, The competition will run for 6 weeks, from August 1st to • make up a team, or 31st. The answer sheet over the page has numbered boxes - write down the name of the community (eg. Naunton) against the correct number, and send the answer sheet or a copy into the Editor to arrive before 4th September, either via P.O. Box 6 at Stow Post Office, Sheep Street, Stow on the Wold GL54 1WD, or by email to: [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] (NB. Allow a week for posted entries to PO Box 6) notes. Every photograph was taken in the last few weeks, within the 30mph signs for each community, from public land/a road, pavement or footpath, and not on private land.
