Anti-Hunger Program - For more information about the District's Anti- Hunger Program, contact Joseph Slert, Chairperson for the Anti-Hunger Resource Committee at (301-725-2928) or mailto:[email protected]. He will gladly help you and/or refer you to a committee member located close to your Club.

Auto Tech Scholarship Program -Approximately 100 returning veterans and vocational school graduates are given jobs at dealerships while they obtain their MLR and ASE certifications. Rotarians provide the tool kits.

Basra Prosthesis Project -this district provides artificial limbs to the children amputees in Iraq. Read RI's news story. Big Books project -Over 3,000,000 books have been sent to third world countries.

Dictionary Project -The Rotary provides dictionaries to all the third graders in our central Maryland/DC District. Approximately 70,000 dictionaries are distributed. Gallaudet -Scholarships and support are offered to students at Gallaudet University.

Safe Blood -Training missions have been sent abroad to help establish safe blood program protocols.

There are approximately 2,700 Rotarians in 70 clubs in our central Maryland/Washington D.C district and each club has significant community/international projects of their own.
