Some sights have free admission:

If you are under 18 years old of any nationality: state and municipal museums.

If you visit them on the first Sunday of the month: all state museums open on that day (from October to March only), Villa Bardini, Museo Salvatore Ferragamo.

During the Settimana della Cultura 2019 (Week of Culture), from March 5 to March 10, 2019, state museums are free for everybody.

If you are a EU citizen and you are between 18 and 25 years of age, every Monday: Torre di Arnolfo Scavi del Teatro Romano Museo Novecento Cappella Brancacci Fondazione Salvatore Romano Museo Stefano Bardini.

If you are over 65 years old: Gucci Garden Museo Salvatore Ferragamo (Please note: from July 1, 2014 state museums in are not free anymore for people over 65 years old).

If you are disabled (together with a helper, if specified in the disability card): state museums municipal museums the Grande Museo del Duomo complex and many others (it is advisable to ask at the ticket office).

If you are a teacher or undergraduate, PhD, MA or post-doc student enrolled in the European Union's Faculties of Architecture, Cultural Heritage, Conservation and Educational Services, as well as Literature and Philosophy (Arts and Humanities) only if enrolled in literature degrees with an archaeological or historic-artistic specialization; if you are a teacher or a student enrolled in Italian Fine Arts Academies or equivalent EU institutes: state museums.

If you are an Italian school teacher (even if it is a private visit): state museums.

If you have a ticket for the you can enter for free into the Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Opificio delle Pietre Dure (within 5 days).

If you are a resident of the Municipality of Florence: Giardino di Boboli (access from Annalena or Porta Romana entrances) Basilica di Santa Maria Novella Basilica di San Lorenzo Gucci Garden, every Monday.

If you are a resident of the Città Metropolitana di Firenze: Battistero Giardino Bardini (free even if you are resident of the Provincia di or Grosseto) Basilica di Santa Croce Grande Museo del Duomo Complex (Cupola, Campanile, Battistero, Cripta e Museo dell'Opera del Duomo) on your birthday, all municipal museums, the Fondazione Franco Zeffirelli and on the first Sunday each month.

If you are a EU citizen and you are between 18 and 25 years of age: € 2 fixed price in each state museum approx. 20% discount in municipal museums.

At many of the attractions there are discounts based on the age, it is advisable to always ask at the ticket office showing an ID.
