The : The Square Mile London's financial heart began life in the narrow alleys and coffee houses of 17th century London. Explore these atmospheric hideaways and discover the development of finance on this 2 hour walk. Look at the - the nation's bank, the old Stock Exchange, the home of the (the Mansion House) and finish up right beside the newest and shiniest buildings in the City: The Walkie Talkie, the Gherkin, The Cheesegrater and of course Lloyds of London.

London Docklands Wall Street on Water, Manhattan on Sea. Just two of the names given to London's newest financial district. On this 2 hour walk explore an area that was once home to King Henry VIII’s dogs, then the heart of shipping in London before being developed in the 1980s into the financial fulcrum that is today. See the glass and steel palaces of a regenerated area that now has more than £14 trillion dealt in foreign exchange every day. It is also home to modern art, a floating church, more waterways than Venice and a marvellous museum that charts the history of the area. And you can see the O2 and the cable car from here too…

BANK OF ENGLAND MUSEUM This Museum tells the story of the Bank of England from its foundation in 1694 to its role today as the centre of the UK economy with a combination of interactives, audio-visuals and artefacts. Talks can be booked in advance specific to KS4 and A Level.

TWICKENHAM TOUR & WORKSHOP A tour of Twickenham Stadium is a fantastic way to discover more about the iconic home of England rugby. Every corner of this unique venue holds a special piece of history and the highly knowledgeable Tour Guides will even take you into the hallowed England dressing room, giving you the chance to sit in the same place as your heroes. Workshop - Commercial Twickenham - This seminar provides an insight into the operations and management of the Twickenham Rugby Store. CHELSEA FC – BUSINESS OF FOOTBALL TOUR This tour provides an exciting insight into match day and non-match day operations at a football club. Aimed at KS4 onwards, the tour and case study focus on merchandise, marketing, finance and staffing. This is a great resource for coursework and revision which students of sport, leisure, tourism and marketing may also find informative.

COCA COLA EDUCATION CENTRE, EDMONTON Qualified teachers will bring industry to life for your students giving them first hand experience of the manufacturing and business world. This is an ideal opportunity to make connections between work done in the classroom and real life business practises. A typical visit here will include a presentation in a classroom environment tailored to your study topic followed by a tour around the factory. FULLERS GRIFFIN BREWERY This is one of the largest independent brewers and retailers in the UK and is London’s only remaining traditional family brewer. Visitors will be taken round this working site and will discover the history and heritage of an independent business. Note this visit is only available to age 16 +

GUIDED TOUR OF THE LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC SITES Following the outstanding success of the world’s greatest sporting event, there is now huge interest in seeing the area where our athletes won their medals. A vast urban regeneration programme has transformed East London and is still making headline news. This 2 – 2½ hour walk begins at Pudding Mill Lane on the Greenway overlooking the Aquatic Centre and the Stadium and then goes into the park to past the Handball Arena (The Copper Box), walks by the Velodrome and also the new I- City (formerly the International Press Centre). For an additional fee we can pre- book visits inside the Copper Box, the Aquatics Centre and the Orbit within your walking tour. Please confirm at the time of booking.

Top Tip: Please note the tour does not allow access to all areas of the Olympic Park. A number of buildings including the Olympic Stadium and the Velodrome are still not open to visitors. However, these key sites can still be seen from great viewpoints around the tour.

MUSEUM OF BRANDS & PACKAGING Discover how well loved brands evolved through their creative use of packaging and advertising and how we evolved with them. It’s possible to take a self guided visit or to arrange a workshop.

ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL – Who’s Business Is It? Themed Tour This is a guided tour around the Cathedral specifically aimed at Business Studies students. You’ll discuss the challenges faced daily for this multi purpose place of prayer and worship, business, tourism and centre for the arts.

Top Tip: In addition to the crypt and the Cathedral, weather permitting, you can take your students to the climb up to the exterior galleries for an amazing view of London. This is an additional cost which can be paid on the day.

London offers a great choice of museums and attractions, many of which are an ideal complement to their learning and can be free for students

HIGHLIGHTS OF LONDON GUIDED WALKING TOUR A half day guided tour of the city on board your coach is a perfect way to see all the major sites. Highly recommended if this is a first time visit to London for many of your students.

JACK THE RIPPER WALKING TOUR Always in the evening and at its best when London is cold and misty, this eerie tour takes students back in time to 1888 to follow in the footsteps of the London Metropolitan Police as they try to catch a killer.

BRITISH MUSEUM With more than 7 million objects within its collections, the illustrates and documents the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present. Please note that tours are very popular and places are limited, so generally have to be booked about six months in advance. Your tour will last around 75 minutes.

Educational Resources: In addition to a guided tour, you may also request a curriculum focussed workshop and possibly a Q&A session with your MP, subject to their availability. IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM The covers conflicts involving Britain from the First World War through to the present day. The Centenary of the First World War is highly topical and with its new First World War galleries the IWM is a must for any group visiting London.

RIPLEY’S, BELIEVE IT OR NOT Based in the heart of the West End, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is the most wonderfully weird visitor attraction in London. Home to countless curiosities collected by the legendary adventurer Robert Ripley, you’ll step into a fascinating world where the bizarre and the unbelievable come to life and where amazement is waiting around every corner. From unusual art to underwater wonders, an upside down room and even a dungeon, at Ripley’s London there are mindboggling experiences for even the wildest imagination. THAMES RIVER CRUISE This cruise along the Thames is a great way to see some of the major sites of the city. We recommend groups take the 40 minute cruise from Westminster to which takes in Westminster, Big Ben, Somerset House, London Eye, Oxo Tower, The Tate Modern, St Paul’s Cathedral, London , Tower Bridge and the Tower. TOWER OF LONDON See where numerous individuals lost their heads and visit the Prisoners exhibition which looks at some of the Towers more notorious convicts including Anne Boleyn, Edward V, Guy Fawkes and Sir Thomas More.
