IN THE TRENCHES: WEEK 7 OUTLAND TROPHY MATCHUPS PRESENTED BY THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES Wisconsin at Michigan, 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC We take our Outland Trophy weekly watch to the Big House in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Saturday, where power football will be on display as the Badgers put their school-record 17-game regular-season Big Ten winning streak to the test. No team in the nation has more players on the Outland Trophy Watch List than Wisconsin. This is a showcase game and the biggest challenge of the season for the four Badgers up front – sophomore center Tyler Biadasz (Amherst, Wis.), senior left guard Michael Deiter (Curtice, Ohio), senior right guard Beau Benzschawel (Grafton, Wis.) and junior right tackle David Edwards (Downers Grove, Ill.). Edwards was a 2017 FWAA Second Team All-American and has started 26 of his 32 career games. A Wisconsin lineman has earned first- or second-team FWAA All-America honors in three of the last four seasons. The Badgers’ push up front has helped produce the nation’s leading rusher in sophomore running back Jonathan Taylor, a returning second-team FWAA All-American who is averaging 169.8 yards per game and just had his second 200-yard game of the season last week with 221 against Nebraska. The offensive line has cleared enough room for Taylor to top 200 yards five times the past two seasons and 100 yards in 15 of his 19 career games. Taylor (849 yards) is in range Saturday, needing 151 yards to become the ninth player in school history to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and the first since Melvin Gordon in 2013 and ‘14. Along Wisconsin’s defensive front is nose tackle Olive Sagapolu (Pago Pago, American Samoa), who commands plenty of attention in the interior of the defense but is also well-known for his backflips and midair splits in the offseason. The senior has started 23 straight games, and his 14 tackles are seventh on the team. Michigan team captain Ben Brederson (Hartland, Wis.) will make his team-leading 26th straight start at left guard. Brederson is a second-team All-Big Ten and 2017 Academic All-Big Ten honoree who has led the Wolverines to pile up more than 170 rushing yards in five straight games. Michigan has eclipsed 300 yards of total offense in all six contests. The Wolverines have won six of the last seven in the series, but the Badgers have won eight straight Big Ten games on the road, another school record.

Washington at Oregon, 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN2 Another highlight game on Saturday’s schedule is the 111th meeting between the Huskies and Ducks. Oregon’s offensive line has two Watch List members in junior center Jake Hanson (Eureka, Calif.) and junior right tackle Calvin Throckmorton (Bellevue, Wash.). Hanson, a two-time Academic All-Pac-12 selection, and Throckmorton have each made 30 consecutive starts. They anchor an Oregon offensive line that as a whole has tremendous experience with a combined 113 starts among the five starters. Throckmorton is the featured lineman coming into this game. According to Oregon statistics, Throckmorton has played 1,712 consecutive offensive snaps – including 778 in pass protection – without allowing a sack. In his 27 games at right tackle and three at right guard, he hasn’t allowed a sack since October 21, 2016, at California, a span of 23 games. On defense for Oregon is nose guard Jordon Scott (Largo, Fla.), who now has 15 consecutive starts there plugging the middle with his 329-pound frame. Scott got his first career sack against Cal three weeks ago. Kaleb McGary (Fife, Wash.), Washington’s senior right tackle, has had an interesting career at UW. He started his career on the de- fensive line, then the 6-8, 324-pounder moved to the offensive front. He’s started at right tackle the past 33 games. Greg Gaines (La Habra, Calif.), a senior , got his season off to a fine start with five tackles in the opener against Auburn. He had seven tackles three weeks ago against Arizona State and is currently tied for seventh on the team in tackles with 20 and has 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack. The 2017 second-team All-Pac-12 performer has 19 consecutive starts. The Huskies continue to miss left tackle Trey Adams (Wenatchee, Wash.), who has been out the first six games following an All-Pac-12 season last year. Adams was a second-team FWAA All-America tackle in 2016 who started the first seven games of 2017 at left tackle before a season-ending injury.

OTHER MATCHUP OF NOTE ... • USF at Tulsa, 7 p.m. ET (Friday) on ESPN: USF is one of 11 teams that remain unbeaten. Coaches credit offensive line depth for their resurgence the past two seasons, anchored by right tackle Marcus Norman (Sebastian, Fla.) and his 24 consecutive starts. USF is 15th in the FBS in sacks allowed at 1.15 per game, and the Bulls have had back-to-back 3,000-yard rushing seasons. Tulsa senior center Chandler Miller (Bixby, Okla.) has started all 43 games since his first start as a red-shirt freshman in 2015.Tyler Bowling (Yukon, Okla.) has 30 consecutive starts at left guard.
