Principal for a Day, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 Principal for a Day, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 Jersey City Public Schools, Hudson County Chamber of Commerce, and SILVERMAN, invite you to participate in our Eighth Annual Principal for a Day, (PFAD) Tuesday, May 14, 2019. As a PFAD, you will be paired with a Jersey City public school to spend the day alongside the real principal. Our goal is for you to witness examples of school success and learn first-hand about the challenges our schools face. We hope you will develop long-term productive relationships that strengthen our community and support enhanced student achievement. This partnership between Jersey City Public Schools and the Chamber of Commerce is an effort to promote local business involvement in our public schools. Since 2012, over 280 Principals for a Day made lasting impressions on the schools, children, teachers, and administrators. The business and community leaders shared a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. In addition to the main event on May 14th, please join us for a pre-PFAD cocktail party, Monday, April 22, 2019, 6-8 PM where you’ll meet fellow volunteer Principals for a Day and JCPS administrators. Also, please mark your calendar for a follow-up meeting with all participating Principals and Principals for a Day to share and celebrate your experiences. You may choose, either the breakfast or lunch follow-up meeting Thursday, June 27, 2019. A registration form is enclosed. Please respond by 4/1/2019. Once registered, you will receive an email with your school assignment and other pertinent information before the big day. Questions? Contact Ms. Javia Jackson [email protected] (201) 714-2339. • College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award
College Board’s AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award recognizes schools that are closing the gender gap and engaging more female students in computer science coursework in AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP) and AP Computer Science A (AP CSA). Specifically, College Board is honoring schools who reached 50% or higher female representation in either of the two AP computer science courses in 2018, or whose percentage of the female examinees met or exceeded that of the school's female population in 2018. Out of more than 18,000 secondary schools worldwide that offer AP courses, only 685 have achieved this important result.
