The Norwegian Deathhammer consisting of Sgt. Salsten and Sadomancer already strikes the third time. The two hellhounds publish with "Evil Power" another release via Hells Headbangers. However, the guys haven't been inactive between their full length . They always played in some splits and contributions on compilations. Anyway, let us attend to the current .

The thrust of the album reminds most intensive of the first and in my opinion best album "Show no Mercy" and parts of Nifelheim, Cruel Force, Nocturnal plus many other old and new Black/Thrash bands. So the formation fits exactly my tastes from the first note.

They mix glorious yelling with high screaming. The blend of the album was made very rough but forceful. Signature feature of the band is definitely cutting and sawing guitars with riffings like an arrow as well as driving drums. Moreover the bass presses the whole thing forward. The guys fall musically more often into a slightly "thrash'n'roll" way. This makes the album more ingenious.

Deathhammer manages to interlace catchy solos and interludes despite all intransigency. These are really suitable and have an relaxing effect. One can clearly pick out the parts both textual and compositional. Therefore I would rather call their style Blackend Thrash Metal.

Conclusion: It is simply glorious to hear a younger band again that celebrates traditional music by conviction. Furious, biting with full power ahead, this opus lashes out of the speakers. Here, they celebrate true rough and merciless Thrash Metal without unnecessary extravagance. "Evil Power" is musically and textual a full programm. The general impression is convincing, honest and authentic. One who likes melodical "Pseudo-Thrash-Core-stuff" can go back through the floor to cry and should review its music taste.
