Vincent is an whose sole focus is the integration of green and sus‐ tainable strategies into the at every level through design excellence and the application of sound project management principles. He is committed the movement in and the Caribbean region.

Born in St. Louis Missouri, Vincent has lived in Puerto Rico since 1988. He cur‐ rently practices as the principal of Pieri + Associates , an architec‐ ture, project management and green design firm based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Established in 2003, Pieri + Associates Architects is dedicated to enabling clients, project development teams, and building owners understand and adopt successful and economical eco‐effective strategies and provide creative interdisciplinary technical support from early‐stage integrative design efforts and metrics throughout the design, construction and operational building life cycle.

2010 New FBI Headquarters at the Hato Rey Federal Building An 8 story, 250,000 square foot mission critical headquarters building with structured parking and a detached daycare center on an 18 acre site located at the Federal Courts complex in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. The new FBI headquarters is in early design stage and is projected to meet LEED‐NC v3 Gold certification. The project will use 75% less potable water, employ natural light and views, and the energy efficiency measures are projected to im‐ prove overall performance by +30% over ASHRAE 90.1 2007. 2009 Institute for Advanced Medical Research at the Hermanos Melendez Hospital The “IAMT” is a 9 story, 225,000 square foot acute care hospital facility with a separate three story physical plant building. The IAMT will be connected to the main Hermanos Melendez Hospital and medical center complex by two overhead covered walkways. The building is designed to acquire a LEED-NC v 2.2 Silver certification. Responsibilities: Envelope design and detailing, preparation of Owner’s Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and project specifications manual, LEED Guidance and Administration. 2009 Marriot Courtyard Convention Center Hotel The Marriot Courtyard Convention Center Hotel is a 14 story 300 room hotel with restaurant and conference fa‐ cilities and 150 car covered parking located in the Puerto Rico Convention Center District. The Marriot is de‐ signed to meet LEED‐NC v2.2 Gold certification, and includes an ultra‐low water use plan, and energy efficient design projected to be 28% over ASHRAE 90.1 2004, a robust IAQ and Waste Diversion program. Responsibilities: LEED‐NC Guidance and Administration, Energy Modeler, Commissioning Agent. Project Status: Currently in Design Development Phase with a projected completion date in summer 2012. 2008 Sheraton Convention Center Hotel and Casino The 500,000 square foot, 500 room Sheraton Convention Center Hotel and Casino is the first Hotel in Puerto Rico to aspire to LEED‐NC v2.2 certification in Puerto Rico. The design features include low emitting materials and FFE, high performance energy efficient HVAC and lighting systems, Management program during construction, and on‐site construction waste . Responsibilities: LEED Guidance and Administration Year Completed: Completion date in November 2009 Owner: Convention Center Hotel Partners / Interlink Architects: RTKL / RaY Architects and Engineers Contractor: F&R Construction (General Contractor) Key Achievements The Sheraton Convention Center Hotel and Casino will be the first LEED Certified hotel in Puerto Rico.

2007 McNeil Consumer Healthcare, La Piedras, Puerto Rico The McNeil Las Piedras campus is the manufacturing center for Tylenol and other Johnson & Johnson solid dose OTC healthcare products. The 500,000 square foot facility is currently in the process of developing a LEED for Existing Buildings program to integrate high‐performance energy efficiency and environmental performance pro‐ grams into their day‐to‐day operations and maintenance and cGMP processes. Responsibilities: LEED‐EB Guidance and Administration Certification Date: September 2009, LEED‐EB Certified. Owner: McNeil Consumer Healthcare, LLC Program Costs: $850,000 Key Achievements The McNeil Las Piedras campus is the second LEED certified building in Puerto Rico, the first awarded LEED‐EB certification in Puerto Rico, and the first Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility in the world to achieve LEED certification. McNeil is continuing its efforts to make significant improvements in lowering the facilities energy, car bon, and environmental footprint. The LEED‐OM v3 certification program is under way.

2006 La Ciudadela de Santurce, Stop 23, Santurce, PR. Ciudadela is a mixed use residential and commercial urban infill development of 518 residential units in 15 build‐ ings, 150,000 square foot commercial area on the ground floor along a central pedestrian plaza, and 790,000 square feet of underground and covered parking for 2083 cars. Ciudadela is designed to meet LEED‐NC v2.1 cer‐ tification, and includes water efficient fixtures, water harvesting, and an energy efficient design projected to be 18% over ASHRAE 90.1 2004. Responsibilities: LEED Guidance and Administration, Commissioning Agent. Year Completed: Phase I and II currently under construction. 2005 Jose De Diego Elementary School, Dorado, Puerto Rico The Jose De Diego Elementary School is the second “ecological school” designed for the Puerto Rico Public Build‐ ings Authority and one of the first public buildings to aspire to LEED certification in Puerto Rico. The project is designed to meet LEED‐NC v2.1 Silver certification, and includes passive energy efficiency design strategies, natu‐ ral ventilation design, photovoltaic , and design. Responsibilities: Owner’s Representative. 2003 Popular Center Tenant Area Retrofit, Edificio Popular Center, Hato Rey, PR Renovation and retrofit of 145,000 square feet of occupied tenant office space, including selective demolition of the ceiling, repair, refitting and balancing of VAC ductwork and diffusers, installation of sprinkler system, fire de‐ tection and alarm system, continuous acoustic ceiling and new light fixtures. 2003—2008 Starbucks Coffee Puerto Rico Store Expansion Program Design and construction administration of 25 Starbucks Coffee stores in Puerto Rico. Design duties in‐ cluded site identification studies, site feasibility surveys for architecture and marketing, as‐built prepa‐ ration, schematic design, construction drawings preparation, permit acquisition, bidding and negotia‐ tions, and construction administration. Store types included simple kiosks, “core” fit‐outs in existing tenant leasehold spaces, and special “signature” and freestanding stores. 1985‐1989 Rossman, Schneider, Gadbury, Shea Architects, Phoenix, AZ

Five years experience, beginning as junior design team member, and culminating as project architect. Primary roles focused on the preparation of the design program, marketing and design presentations, schematic design, design development and construction documentation packages, document quality audits, bid coordination, and construction supervision duties. Key projects during this tenure include:

1986‐1988 Chandler Cultural Center, Chandler AZ Design program combined a 1,200 seat theater with two motor driven turntable platforms capable of separating 250 seats each and providing three separate theatrical venues with stage facilities, an exhibition hall, and a conference center.

1987‐1988 White Mountain Dome Coliseum, Payson, AZ Unrealized project for a 14,000 seat multi‐venue covered arena for rodeo, ice hockey, football and other sporting and entertainment events. The arena dome roof, designed by Dr. Wendell Rossman, was com‐ posed of triangular glue laminated wood truss members with a tongue and groove roof substrate and an EPDM roof membrane.

1985‐1987 New School Building, Grand Canyon School District, USNPS, Grand Canyon, AZ The first built work designed by Mr. Pieri to be. A multi‐purpose elementary school building of approxi‐ mately 25,000 square feet, the design program included gymnasium facilities, classrooms for the art and special education departments, and the School library. The architecture of the new multi‐purpose was designed to be in contextual harmony with the adjacent buildings and those of the rest of the Grand Can‐ yon National Park. The site had several historic buildings constructed by the Work Projects Administration (WPA) during the 1930’s and built in the “Grand Canyon style” combining rustic local materials such as split face fieldstone base, with piñon pine picket plank siding and a timber roof.
