March 2018 In Touch With Lee on

Councillor Chris Carter—working for you, all year round! NEW PLAY AREA OPENS IN ALVER VALLEY Cllr Chris Carter says: “After a successful campaign, I am delighted that Borough Council are investing over £300,000 for more facilities in the Alver Valley Country Park . This very popular Play Area benefits local families, and better is yet to come when we install a café, toilets and an extra car park!”  But Chris Carter and John Beavis have made clear: “To help residents living nearby, we must continue efforts to persuade County Council to extend double yellow lines further into Cherque Farm, to minimise parking congestion caused by users of the Alver Valley attempting to avoid the car park fees!”

And, listening to views of local residents, Chris Carter has also obtained agreement for the Police to include the Area in their patrolling schedule – aiming to reduce the opportunity for juvenile anti-social behaviour around the Play Area and car parks, especially as the warmer weather approaches.

But this project is only one of many projects and investments as planned by our Conservative-led Council for Lee-on-the-Solent and Gosport as a whole. Working hard on further efficiency savings, with a business plan based on prudence, sustainability and affordability, enables the Council to develop yet more opportunities for employment and skills training, local businesses and leisure facilities – to enhance the well-being of one and all."
