Sitting on the quarters of Alkie into the straight Rolston pressed to challenge and he asserted over Alkie to go clear passing the 200 metres. Rolston showed his immaturity when rolling about once clear and he was swamped late on by Masterstroke (Exceed And Excel) and then Dream Choice but he had enough in hand to score by a long-head over Dream Choice (Redoute’s Choice). “I was confident with Glyn on board, he was very strong all the way to the line today,” Waller said on TVN. “It was a good ride, there was a bit of speed in the race but he used his initiative and put him outside the leader, kicked strong at the top of the straight, the horse got a bit leg weary but did enough to win. “He is a good horse who has never done anything wrong, I am more than happy with the way he is going, he has some good races in him.” Waller was also in the winners’ circle when Ingham Magic (3 f Magic Albert – Chiamo, by Catbird) raced away to score by two and a half lengths in the ATC Guineas Restaurant 3yo Maiden over 1100 metres. DAMON IN DEAUVILLE

WOW! What a day it turned out to be on Tuesday! After another busy morning of inspections at the sales, the focus changed to the picturesque Deauville Racecourse for the running of the Group 2 Prix de la Nonette which is sponsored by Shadwell. As always, a stylish lunch was laid on by Shadwell, but I’m sure you are sick of reading about what I ate so we won’t go into that. French racing is a great experience and I am convinced that 30 minutes between races is the way to go . . . take note VRC and ATC. People like me with Attention Deficiency Disorder don’t have time to get bored! There were eight races on the card and the feature race was won by Dream Peace, a lovely filly by Dansili, who is owned by Haras d’Etreham. Etreham is of course the de Chambre family owned and

run stud and young Nicholas de Chambre has spent a lot of time Terry Henderson following Faustina’s win at Deauville APRH in Australia as of late. The filly was purchased at the 2010 Arc Yearling Sale for €250,000. Terry Henderson and Simon O’Donnell from OTI had a filly Lot 138, a gorgeous filly by Galileo entered the ring and the named Faustina running in the sixth race on the card, over 1200m. bidding was spirited. At the €900,000 mark, shook Terry was trackside to watch their talented filly win easily by 3 his head in the negative (not a sight you see often). I thought that lengths. Arabs, who this year have very little in Deauville and oh how the tables have turned with the power of the Aussie dollar! So last night was all about the Veuve! We dined in the restaurant and celebrated with Terry for his win and also with the Waratah entourage. Watching some of the Irish and English agents who are well known to our shores hover around the new money on the scene made for interesting viewing! I dined with Peter Maher and John Stuart and his fiancée Douglas (yes a woman!), which was great fun. John has sent Artie Schiller and Hat Trick down to Victoria to stud. I wandered past The Brok to have a cheeky one for the road and tried yet another Calvados but have decided it is too much like rocket fuel. However, it is good for helping my voice break! Paul Fudge & Michael Goodbody APRH Go Aussie Go! Giddy up!
