At night, he hacked social media, personal information and bank records, including records of his colleagues, therapists and drug dealers. Elliot stops a DDoS attack on Allsafe's largest client, E Corp. He identifies a file marked fsociety00.dat and a text file asking him not to destroy malware that he finds hidden on the E Corp server. Fsociety invites Elliot to join them at the beginning of the digital revolution; They plan to delete all debt records held by E Corp. He is intrigued and eventually agrees. As his first co-act with fsociety, Elliot provides the FBI with an encrypted file falsely implicated by Terry Colby, E Corp's own chief technology officer (technical director) as an attack orchestrator. 22eps1.1_ones-and-zer0es.mpegSam EsmailSam EsmailJuly 1, 2015 (2015-07-01)1.73 4 Elliot refuses a job offer from Tyrell Wellick, interim CEO of E Corp. Elliot, increasingly paranoid, uses more morphine than usual. Darlene visits him at home to lead him to a whimper, surprising him. Mr Robot and fsociety want Elliot to destroy an E Corp offline backup facility called Steel Mountain by breaking into a nearby gas plant and causing an explosion. Elliot backs down because he doesn't want to risk his life. Sheila is a drug dealer and friend of Elliot's. When Elliot notices Fernando Vera, the supplier abusing her, Elliot collects evidence against Fernando and treats him to the police, despite the obvious don't do it. Meanwhile, Cisco, an unidentified employee of the Chinese hacking group The Dark Army, hacked into Ollie's home computer using a CD. Elliot and Mr. Robot discuss Elliot's quarrel with his father: Elliot told his mother about his father's incurable disease, despite his father's promise that he would keep the disease a secret. Mr Robot pushes Elliot from the railing to the rock-strewn beach below as punishment for not keeping his father's secret. 33eps1.2_d3bug.mkvJim McKaySam EsmailJuly 8, 2015 (2015-07-08)1.60 '5' Tyrell is furious that Scott Knowles was selected for the CTO. To let off steam, Tyrell pays the homeless man to let him beat him. Cisco requires Ollie to infect Allsafe with the same disk. Elliot thinks he's the one with that. Tyrell seduces his boss's male secretary and installs software on his phone. Trying to be more normal, Elliot asks Sheila to accompany him to the party, she agrees, and they become romantic. During the party, fsociety leaked emails to E Corp that accused Colby of hiding a toxic waste leak that caused leukemia in Elliot's father and mother Angela. Tyrell binds his pregnant wife and gags her at her request. Ollie admits to infidelity and Cisco's demands on Angela. Fearing identity theft, she wants him to infect the Allsafe CD. Elliot returns to the hosts. Allsafe CEO Gideon Goddard is suspicious of Elliott's story about the E Corp attack and is launching an investigation. 44eps1.3_da3m0ns.mp4Nisha GanatraAdam Pennuli 15, 2015 (2015-07-15)1.27'6 Elliot has a new plan to destroy E Corp tape to back up their data on Steel Mountain involving hacking their climate control system by plugging raspberry slowly to raise the temperature (bypassing the climate control system) to the point where it will destroy the magnetic tape of the backup window, but it requires physical access to a heavily fortified data center. Elliot, Romero, Mobley and Mr. Robot go to Steel Mountain. With his morphine supply cut off, Elliot begins to have serious withdrawal symptoms, including numerous hallucinations. Darlene and Trenton are left behind to contact Cisco (Darlene's ex-boyfriend) and orchestrate a simultaneous hacking attack by the Dark Army on E Corp's backup websites in China. Meanwhile, Angela and Sheila do ecstasy, which leads to two kisses. The next morning, Angela sabotages Allsafe using Ollie's working ID and computer. 55eps1.4_3xpl0its.wmvJim McKaydavid Ierson22, 2015 (2015-07-22)1.38 with the help of fsociety, Elliot penetrates Steel Mountain with what he calls human exploits. He accidentally meets Tyrell and uses his ego to gain access to the exclusion zone where he has to connect his Raspberry Pi loaded with the program to climate control system and destroy E Corp tape backup. Tyrell reveals he knows Elliot set up. but won't roll it. The Dark Army refuses to attack a reserve plant in China, jeopardizing the plan of the master's army. Meanwhile, Tyrell and Joanna have dinner with presidential candidate Scott and his wife Sharon in an attempt to find their weaknesses. Tyrell is sexually approached by Sharon in the bathroom. Angela leaves Ollie after she told him that she had infected Allsafe with a hacker's disk, and moved in with her father. She discovers that he is deeply in debt from his mother's old medical bills. Elliot finds Sheila's phone on the floor. Fernando Vera summons him from prison, with the assumption that he orchestrated the kidnapping of Sheila. He accuses Elliot of giving it to the police. 66eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asfDebor ChowKil Bradstreet29, 2015 (2015-07-29)1.25'8 Sheila kidnapped by Vera's brother to pressure Elliot to hack Vera from prison before he is killed from within. Elliot visits Vera to check the cyber system of the prison, and later realizes that Vera's brother arranged an internal blow. Acting CEO Scott tells Tyrell that his wife told him about the incident in the bathroom, humiliating Tyrell. After Tyrell breaks down her kitchen in a rage, Joanna explains that Sharon's desire to be wanted is their vulnerability. Angela is meeting with lawyers in an attempt to reopen her toxic waste lawsuit against E Corp - they tell her it's impossible to win without testimony from someone inside. Elliot pulls Vera out of prison, and Vera immediately kills his brother. When Elliott asked about Sheila, Vera throws his car keys and says, She's been with you the whole time. Elliot opens the trunk and finds Sheila inside with her throat slit. 77eps1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flvSam EsmailKate EricksonAugust 5, 2015 (2015-08-05)1.15 9 Flashback: Sheila moves in the next door and gives Elliot a favorite fish. She wants to be his friend, despite his awkwardness around people. She suggests contacting the suboxone supplier for Elliot. It's now a month since Sheila's murder. Angela makes the case: she would lie and say she broke the custody chain with a .dat file that incriminated Terry Colby if, in exchange, Colby would testify that E Corp covered up a toxic waste leak in 1993. Gideon warns Angela that her plan will put Allsafe out of business. Meanwhile, Darlene and Mr. Robot are trying to return the mistress. She sets up a personal meeting with the mysterious Waitrose, leader of the Dark Army. Tyrell, at a party celebrating Knowles' promotion, lures Sharon to an isolated roof and strangles her, seducing her. Elliot admits to his therapist that he is hacking everyone in an attempt to find a way out of loneliness. 88eps1.7_wh1ter0se.m4vCrytherandolf LeonAugust 12, 2015 (2015-08-12)1.24'10 Darlene steals a gun, and has a conversation with Angela, which means they are longtime friends. Elliot and reschedule their attack, but still need the Dark Army. Elliot meets Waitrose, a transgender woman obsessed with time, who says the Dark Army has retreated because Gideon, who was suspicious of Elliott's story, turned an hacked E Corp server into a medley. With the help of Darlene Elliot closes it. Tyrell finds a file fsociety.dat after Gideon tells him about the honey pot and meets Mr. Robot, and it seems that they are working together. He reminds Mr. Robot that he knows his dirty little secret when Mr. Robot refuses to cooperate, which Mr. Robot shrugs off. When the police interrogate Velikov about the murder of Sharon, Joanna secretly breaks his own water with a fork to distract them. Elliot tells Darlene about the success of their plan, and the ecstatic Darlene tells him that he loves him. He kisses Darlene, who is outraged. She wondered if he had forgotten again. Elliot realizes that Darlene is his sister, but he does not remember her. He finds a CD that contains old family photos - showing that Mr. Robot is his father.

    Watchmen (Zack Snyder, 2009)

IN FOCUS: The Long Shadows of 9/11 Science Fiction, Thrillers, and the War on Terror Introduction by WILL BROOKER, editor eptember 11, Jacques Derrida observed, had by October 2001 already become “a date or a dating that has taken over our pub- lic space and our private lives.” The very process of naming transformed the attacks of the previous month into “an event that truly marks, that truly makes its mark, a singular and . unprec- Sedented event.”1 Ten years later, the terrain has changed. It is harder now simply to repeat the mantra “9/11,” like a recurring nightmare or a conjuring spell, “over and over again as if its singularity were so absolute that it could not be matched.”2 Two important recent books on the im- pact of September 11 on fi lm and popular culture—Stephen Prince’s Firestorm and Jeff Birkenstein, Anna Froula, and Karen Randell’s Re- framing 9/11—demonstrate even in their subtitles that the single date is no longer enough to capture the complexity of the United States’ relationship with terror over the past decade, and that the black-and- white signifi er of “9/11,” its digits so neatly recalling both the phone number for US emergency services and the formerly standing tow- ers, is no longer enough to contain all the ethically gray areas within and around that opposition.3 Prince’s volume covers not just 9/11 but “American Film in the Age of Terrorism,” while Reframing 9/11 reposi- tions the once-monumental, singular date in broader terms of “Film, Popular Culture and the ‘War on Terror.’” From the cover onward, those quotation marks around “war on terror” retain a skeptical dis- tance from the Bush administration’s attempt to narrate and justify its actions in terms of military urgency.
