Information Regarding Medical Insurance GROUP MEDICAL INSURANCE POLICY BY UNITED INDIA INSURANCE CO. LTD FOR STUDENTS AND RESEARCH FELLOWS OF INDIAN STATISTICAL INSTITUTE ESSENTIAL CONDITIONS 1. Room Rent Limit: 2 % of the sum insured & for IC Unit 5 % of the sum insured. 2. There will be no restriction for Surgeon, Anesthetist, Medical Practitioner, Consultants special fees per illness in this cover. 3. There will be no restriction for Anesthesia, Blood, Oxygen, OT Charges, Surgical appliances, Medicines, Drugs, Diagnostic Material, X-Ray & Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Cost of Pacemaker, Artificial Limbs and cost of Stent & Implant in this cover. The charge of attendant certified by the doctor may be included. 4. All pre-existing Diseases will be covered (All diseases under the scheme shall be covered from day one. A person suffering from any disease/having implants & internal congenital disease prior to the inception of the policy shall also be covered). 5. Pre hospitalization period – 30 days. 6. Post hospitalization period: 60 (Sixty) days. 7. 100% of admissible claim should be reimbursed irrespective of treatment taken in different zone within India. 8. New students should be covered by charging pro-rata premium. 9. The coverage includes medical expenses due to accident. 10. Refund should be allowed on pro-rata basis for the unexpired period in case of withdrawal of the policy. 11. Cashless Access Service: The Insurer has to ensure that all the students are provided with adequate facilities so that they do not have to pay any deposits at the commencement of the treatment or at the end of the period in the network hospital of the Insurer subject to the allowable limit. In other cases all reimbursement of claim must be settled within 30 days of submission of final bill. Query against the submitted bill if any must be raised within a week by the TPA. 12. ISI authority will decide/control the distribution/disbursement of the Corporate Buffer. 13. Midterm inclusion/deletion of members are allowed subject to the confirmation of ISI Authority. 14. Help desk is to be set-up at ISI, Kolkata. 15. Original Reports/papers are to be returned to the Institute/Employee. (Xerox plates, MRI Reports which can be further used for Medical consultations.) 16. Reimbursement of Ambulance charges : Maximum 2000/- per claim. 17. Any type of treatment or procedures or surgeries which required Laser Assistance should be reimbursed due to advancement to technology. The history of evil eye bead usage dated back to ancient times, but upon time it’s meaning have been re-constructed by culture. This paper focused on an amulet based commodity “evil eye bead” used against evil eye and for ornament in Turkey. In order to analyze the myth of evil eye bead, two-sectioned survey was conducted. First section determined evil eye belief rate, participant profile and objects against evil eye. In the second section, the semantic dimensions of evil eye bead was analyzed in the myth level encompassing its perception and function as a cultural opponent act. This paper interrogated the role of culture, geography, and history on the evil eye bead myth. Keywords: Evil Eye Bead, Culture, Myth, Semiology. In India alone, this system is known by different names like Devadasi, Mathamma, Jogini, Basavis. Through this study, I represent the unheard voices of Devadasi women from South India and use HRD concepts and principles to synthesize the findings. The field of HRD is not confined to the boundaries of an organization and can play a critical role in community development. This is the first step towards empowering the members of this system and it is hoped that the findings from this study will help inform the organizational practices of NGO’s working with this populace. This study includes a unique set of participants whose experiences have not been captured and examined using intersectionality and Bourdieu, thus contributing to literature. Data was collected through interviews with Devadasi women from South India, specifically Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, and Tirupati. Five themes emerged from the data – dichotomy, identity, status, fear and locus of control. The theme ‘status’ refers to the participant’s intersecting identities as women and as people from lower castes.
