ENNIS PARISH, LED BY FR TOM HOGAN, WILL MAKE A PILGRIMAGE TO ITALY ON OCTOBER 15-22: They will fly from Dublin to Bari in the heel of Italy and spend the first three nights at the shrine of Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo. The group will then drive to Sorrento, visiting the lovely town of Pietrelcina on the way. Padre Pio was born here and the whole town is filled with places associated with him. The last four nights will be spent in the famous resort of Sorrento. Perched on a clifftop, the town has unrivalled views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. One of the Group’s aims is to link people with Parkinson’s, their carer’s, relatives, friends and interested health and care professionals. The meeting offers a forum for discussion, support and information and to raise awareness locally about Parkinson’s and problems associated with the condition. All are Welcome. For further information contact 087 415 8430. ENNIS GARDA STATION OPEN DAY is free and open to everyone; it is on from 2pm – 5pm on Saturday 26th May. Weather permitting, the Garda Air Support Unit helicopter will land in the adjoining GAA grounds, Cusack Park. Other specialist Garda Units attending include the Mounted Unit, Dog Unit, Traffic Corps, Scenes of Crime, Community Policing Unit, Victims of Crime and the Crime Prevention Officer. The event also includes guided tours of Ennis Garda Station to members of the public. Our local partner agencies will also be present, including the Clare Civil Defence and the Clare Fire & Rescue Services. Parking is available at the Clare County Council Offices on New Road, Ennis and it is free for the duration of the event.
