Letter from the Headmaster

It is my pleasure to welcome applications for a new and important role at Marist College Canberra.

We are seeking to engage an exceptionally motivated and qualified Director of Advancement. The Director will work closely and collaboratively with me, the Chair and Board of the College Foundation and the Director of Business Services to foster a culture of individual giving to the College.

The Director will be primarily responsible for establishing Major Gift, Annual Giving and Planned Giving programs, supporting the Foundation’s strategy to grow their fundraising efforts, allowing a continued focus on the provision of bursaries and financial assistance with capital projects.

Through the Br Mark May Bursary Program, administered by the Foundation, we have made considerable progress in the past several years in extending opportunities for a Marist education to families for whom it was not a possibility. Our Bursary Program is about relationships and seeking genuine partnership with those less fortunate.

The College has recently launched our Master Plan, a major project to ensure our ageing campus can continue to meet current demands and future requirements. A significant component of our plan is to expand and renew our facilities and to continue to support and extend learning experiences for our students.

Our future goals will always revolve around the provision of an exceptional Catholic education to boys, where we nurture and guide our students as they become fine young men. I hope you share our vision and thank you for your interest in this important role.

Yours sincerely

Matthew Hutchison Headmaster
