If you are interested in joining the Catawba community you should apply for admission anytime after your sixth semester of high school. Catawba follows the usual guidelines for “rolling admis- sions” and, therefore, has no closing date for accepting ap- plications. Applying early will ensure you an early response from the college. In your application, you are asked to provide a wide va- riety of information relating to your academic and co-curric- ular background. this information is used to help determine your potential to profit from, as well as contribute to, the Catawba community. You must complete a minimum of 16 units of high school course work, 12 of which should be in academic subjects. The following college preparatory course work is strongly rec- ommended: four units of English; three units of mathematics (Algebra I or above); three units of Laboratory Science; three units of Social Science; and two units of foreign language. Your admission to Catawba also will be evaluated by class rank, grade point average, SAT or ACT examination scores, and academic course selection.
