>> This is Matt Raymond at the Library of Congress. For the past nine years, book lovers of all ages have gathered in Washington DC to celebrate reading at the Library of Congress's National Book Festival. This year, the Library is proud to commemorate a decade of words and wonder at the tenth annual National Book Festival on September twenty fifth, 2010. President and Missus Obama are honorary chairs of the event, which provides DC locals and visitors from across the country and around the world the opportunity to see and meet their favorite authors, illustrators, and poets. The festival is free and open to the public. It's held between third and seventh streets from 10 am to 5 30 pm rain or shine. And joining me now is Ken Follett, the renowned author whose novels have topped best seller lists in the US as well as internationally. His latest work, Fall of Giants, comes out on September twenty eighth, just a few days after the National Book Festival. It's the first book of the Century Trilogy, a series that will chronicle twentieth century history through the stories of five families. While some have deemed the Century Trilogy to be Follett's most ambitious project to date, his prior work has been both prolific and wildly popular. He's perhaps most well known for his novel, Pillars of the Earth. Several of his books have been adapted for both the big and the small screens. Catán necesita un lugar donde centralizar el comercio, así que los Cataneses han decidido construir su primera ciudad. La ciudad ideal debería tener un puerto, casas para los obreros y mercaderes, almacenes, tabernas y una gran iglesia en el centro. La llaman “Elasund”, como su ciudad de origen en su tierra natal. Egyelőre nem lesz szó sem az absztrakt logikai játékokról, sem a partijátékokról, ezeket önálló cikkekben fogjuk bemutatni a későbbiek során – most kifejezetten a stratégiai játékokban alkalmazott akciókat fogjuk körüljárni. Elsőként a békésebb, kevésbé konfrontatív játékokban alkalmazott mechanikákról lesz szó, a jövő hónapban pedig a különféle harcrendszerek bemutatásával folytatjuk a most megkezdett témát. Az akciókat és a játé- kosok közötti interakciókat tekintve ugyanis általában erre a két nagy csoportra szoktuk bontani a játékokat: vannak a békés játékok, ahol gazdálkodunk, gyűjtögetünk, feladatokat oldunk meg, de ahhoz, hogy győzzünk, nem szükséges a többi játékos frontális legyőzése vagy megsemmisítése, a saját boldogulásunkhoz nem kell velük direkt kiszúrnunk és őket gátolnunk. Kinder stillen die- ses Grundbedürfnis so oft sie können. Würfeln und über Brettspielen grübeln – das war bereits in der Antike ziemlich angesagt. Man würfelte mit Astragalen und spielte Lege- oder Laufspiele auf Spielplänen, die kurzerhand in Treppen- stufen eingeritzt wurden. Das Material war oft auf das Wesentliche reduziert, der Spielspaß dennoch hoch. Dieser natürliche Drang der Kinder zu spielen ist bis heute unverändert. Eben- so der Wunsch nach viel Spaß beim Spielen. Und das ist auch die Zielsetzung der Spieleautoren von heute. Dabei entwickeln sie zur Freude der Kinder immer detailreicheres Material und raffiniertere Mechanismen. Davon konnten wir uns auch in diesem Jahrgang überzeugen. Über 160 Kinderspiele hat jedes Jurymitglied von den Verlagen erbeten und in zahlreichen Partien zusammen mit Kindern und Familien gespielt – zuhause, in der Kindertagesstätte, in der Schule. Besonders für 5 bis 7 Jahre Unser Fazit: Der Spielejahrgang 2017/2018 bietet insbesondere für die Altersklasse der 5 bis 7-Jährigen eine große Auswahl. Was die Spielmechanismen angeht, überwiegen eindeutig Geschicklichkeits- und Gedächtnisspiele, während das klassische Laufspiel und kindgerechte Kartenspiele auch in diesem Jahrgang eher Mangelware sind. Thematisch haben sich die Autoren ausgesprochen häufig auf Geschichten rund um das klassische Märchen kon- zentriert.
