Misuse of paintball equipment or lack of correct maintenance may cause serious injury or even death. Protective equipment designed for the participation in paintball games must be worn by the user and any persons within range or vicinity. Protective equipment must provide protection for the eyes, face and ears as a minimum. The sale, use, storage and ownership of paintball markers and equipment within Australia is governed by Firearms Legislation within each State.
