    National Playwright Residency Program PROGRAM PARTICIPANT BIOS PLAYWRIGHTS Murielle Borst-Tarrant Murielle Borst-Tarrant (Kuna/Rappahannock Nations) is an author, playwright, director, producer, cultural artist, educator, and human rights activist. Murielle began working as an artist early in her life with Spiderwoman Theatre. After attending Long Island University, she began combining Native American myth and creation stories to help compose a subgenre of literature referred to as Indigenous Fantasy. She is the author of the book series The Star Medicine and short stories published by Miami University Press. She is the Artist Director of Safe Harbor Indigenous Collective. She has produced, wrote, and directed Don’t Feed the Indians- A Divine Comedy Pageant! which premiered at La MaMa in 2017. She works on the deconstructing the pedagogy of the arts within Native communities in the NYC education system. Nominated for the Rockefeller grant in 2001, she won a Native Heart Award. She served as the Special Assistant to the North American Regional representative to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. Global Indigenous Woman’s Caucus Chair (North America) in 2013 to May of 2014. She has spoken at the Indigenous Women’s Symposium at Trent University, at the International Conference at the Muthesius Academy of Art in Kiel Germany, and the Norwegian Theater Academy. J.     MARK IVANIR | BIOGRAPHY Mark Ivanir has been working as a professional film and television actor in Los Angeles since 2001. His first major film role was in Steven Spielberg's 1993 Oscar winning epic SCHINDLER'S LIST. He rejoined with Spielberg twice, first for a cameo appearance in TERMINAL, then again for THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN. A pivotal role in Robert De Niro's 2006 film, THE GOOD SHEPHERD, landed Mark a role in Barry Levinson's WHAT JUST HAPPENED, this time acting alongside De Niro. Many films followed. Mark has booked over 35 Guest Star and Guest Lead roles on television. Ivanir's road to Hollywood was circuitous at best. Born in the communist Ukraine, he immigrated to Israel with his family in 1972. After being cast by Spielberg in SCHINDLER'S LIST, Ivanir moved to London to study with Philippe Gaulier and the actors of the Theater De Complicite. During this stint, he landed roles in THE MAN WHO CRIED (with Johnny Depp) and SECRET AFFAIR which encouraged him to relocate to Hollywood. Ever since, Mark has been working on films in the US, in Europe and in Israel. In Germany he has been working with Dennis Gansel on THE FOURTH STATE and with Dominik Graf on the highly acclaimed mini-series IN THE FACE OF THE CRIME. In Europe, Mark was also working with Fernando Meirelles on his episodic feature film 360. Most recently, Mark co-starred alongside Catherine Keener, Philipp Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken in A LATE QUARTET. Mark currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.

Introducing the Disney+ slate, Kennedy said, “We have a vast and expansive timeline in the Star Wars mythology spanning over 25,000 years of history in the galaxy—with each era being a rich resource for storytelling. Now with Disney+, we can explore limitless story possibilities like never before and fulfill the promise that there is truly a Star Wars story for everyone.” Among the 10 projects announced for Disney+ is “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” starring Ewan McGregor, with Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader, in what Kennedy called, “the rematch of the century.” Also announced are two new series from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, off-shoots of the multiple Emmy®-winning “The Mandalorian.” “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Ahsoka,” a series featuring the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano, will take place in “The Mandalorian” timeline. Kennedy announced that the next Star Wars feature film, releasing in December 2023, will be “Rogue Squadron,” which will be directed by Patty Jenkins of the “Wonder Woman” franchise.
