    Official January 2020 – December 2021 1 Official Radnor Gardens Management Plan 2020-21: Foreword Radnor Gardens are a vitally important asset for local people and visitors to the borough. The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (the Council) aspires to maintain and manage the Gardens to the highest standards. This management plan is based on the use of an audit of the park following central government guidance known as PPG 17. This is explained within this document but the approach is based on common sense. We believe that it is important to get the simple things right. Is the green space clean and tidy? Is the grass cut? Are the trees and shrubs well maintained? Is any graffiti removed effectively and quickly? Working with local communities to deliver the highest quality of service is top priority and it is hoped that this document will provide a framework for continuing and improving dialogue. The site will be maintained appropriately and the local community will be consulted on any proposed changes or improvements to facilities or infrastructure. In particular, the borough works closely with the Friends of Radnor Gardens. We actively encourage suggestions about all aspects of the park. While the Council is open to the changing needs of the community with regards to any of the borough’s parks, the Gardens are long established and are well maintained.     LETTER FROM THE CHAIR May I welcome you to your Summer Tidings as the 12th Chairman of the Society? A big thank you to everyone at the AGM who voted me into the chair and voted for the talented Alan Benns to be our 10th Vice Chairman. You can read more about Alan inside and our two newest group leaders: James Sinclair and Andy Weston. We have a busy time ahead with Teddington in Flower, The Village Fair and Pram Race and the River Festival. We hope most of you will take part either by attending the events or helping us run our stall. We have a new venture at the Park Hotel and that's Afternoon Cream Teas. Bring your friends along and try it out for the first time on June 3rd or come alone and make new friends. The council have taken it upon themselves to put free hanging baskets in each village to complement the Rugby World Cup. Baskets will be planted in World Cup colours - blue, pink and white. We will get 50 placed in the High Street, Broad Street, Victoria Road and Station Road from May-October. We will get 16 baskets in the winter. The Landmark Arts Centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary in November by installing 5 decorative panels telling the history of the building. The Society has donated £500 towards the £2,000 needed for the task. The vinyl panels put up by LBRuT to conceal the derelict Bottoms Up site in the Causeway have been removed as the site is being refurbished at long last.

    S10 CONSULTATION REPORT Executive Summary 1. In a variety of ways a wide range of stakeholders has been consulted regularly since the inception of this proposal in December 2011 including: prospective parents; local residents, businesses and community groups; local primary schools and pre-school settings and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (LBRuT), the local MP and ward councillors. 2. The consultation has been carried out in two phases. The initial phase from December 2011 to October 2012 and the Statutory Consultation from 2 November 2012 to 21 December 2012. 3. Stakeholders have responded very positively throughout both phases of the consultation. Suggestions and comments have been considered, responded to, and, where appropriate, incorporated into planning. 1. INITIAL PHASE 1. The initial consultation period ran from December 2011 to October 2012. 2. Methods used to reach stakeholders included: distributing over 3000 consultation leaflets, a website, a Facebook page, 20 email newsletters and many meetings including three public drop-in information sessions (104 total attendance). 3. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Significant numbers of parents indicated they would send their children to the new school. 4. The main issues raised at this stage were traffic / safe access and admissions. This feedback influenced the development of the proposal. 2. STATUTORY CONSULTATION 1. The statutory consultation ran for seven weeks from 2 November to 21 December 2012. 2. 4000 Consultation leaflets were distributed to local residents, primary schools, Council Members, local community groups, prospective parents and other local organisations. 3. Overall 38 responses to the consultation document were received. 4. Three events were organised with various groups during the consultation period: two public open days at the proposed site and stalls at the local village Christmas event.
