Halsall Homes Proposal The following comment was placed on the PostHorn Facebook page by an East Taphouse resident:

"I attended the parish council meeting, 20 or so residents, 43 signatures all voicing their opposition to the proposed application, and despite this the motion was passed by 3 to 2, so much for democracy, I was under the impression the parish council were there to speak on our behalf, not to rubber stamp D&C housing projects. total disregard for the residents views, the fact it is to be built on a green field site, its is outside the village boundary and will dwarf existing single story properties. The parish council should hang their heads in shame, its such a shame they do not listen to the public" Have your say in the PostHorn - either by Facebook, through the Contact us tab above, or by e-mail to [email protected]

Planning Applications The Parish Council receives details of applications and are consulted on them. They can submit their views (taking into account the views of local residents), but the County Council primarily look to the Parish Council to provide local insight and may not follow their view. The public should make comments to both the Parish Council and Council within any deadline period. You can voice your concerns to them on any planning matter. Halsall Homes proposed development

"It [the notice] was placed at the end of the road as you join the Looe road, I dont think anyone would have been able to view or even noticed that it was there as its not a good place to stop, it was uncovered so I have taken it off and covered it in a plastic sleeve and put it where the other signs are placed where all the moms and school people pass, It would not have survived todays rain"

The photograph of this notice and the above comments were submitted on 11th March by a reader of the PostHorn website (see also the item below).

Land adjacent to No.1 Hillside, East Taphouse At Monday night's Parish Council meeting a group of residents from Hillside addressed the council saying that they had received letters from Halsall Construction together with a revised proposed plan for the field adjacent to Hillside. Residents were concerned that their homes were bungalows but that the proposed development was for two storey houses and as a result they would be overlooked both in their front and rear windows. Concerns were also raised regarding drainage from the site, road access, the breaching of an ancient field boundary to provide a footpath between it and Hillside and the removal of a tree. The Parish Council said that they noted the residents concerns but that there was little that they could do until a planning application was made. To see the revised plan, click here
