How to Get Approved on 23 Podcast Directories
Note: It’s best to create a special email address and use it for all of your podcast applications. Example: [email protected].
1.Spotify It is best to submit through your podcast host (Example: Libsyn, Anchor) Click here for instructions on how to submit through your host.
If you can’t submit your podcast through your host then follow the instructions: Log in to Spotify for Podcasters with your Spotify account, or create an account:
● Paste in the link to your podcast's RSS feed. ● Look for the verification email to the address in your RSS feed. Copy the 8-digit code. ● Customize your podcast info: category, language, and country.
2.Google Podcasts
First, check to see if your podcast is already on Google Podcasts. They searched the web and added many automatically: https://podcasts.google.com/. If your podcast is there you can leave as is.
If you would like to claim your podcast, make any changes to what is displayed, or add your podcast then follow the instructions below:
● Log into the google account you want your podcast linked to. It’s best to create a special email address and use it for all of your podcast applications. Example: [email protected] ● Go to Google Podcast Manager: https://podcastsmanager.google.com/about?hl=en ● Submit your RSS feed ● Google will show you a preview of the feed. If you approve, click next ● Google will send a verification code to the email linked to your RSS feed ● Enter the code (Hint: If the email linked with your RSS feed and your google email you are using to submit, are the same, Google won't require a code) ● Google will verify
3.iHeart: iHeart Radio requires that your podcast has been live for over 2 months before you can submit. Once you have hit the 2-month mark, follow the instructions below:
● Check your hosting platform to see if you can submit through them first ○ If you use Libsyn, go to Destinations, and click Add New. ● If not, visit: https://www.iheart.com/content/submit-your-podcast/ ○ Here you will enter in your podcast email, Podcast title, and RSS URL ○ Agree to the terms ○ Click Submit!
4.Stitcher:
Visit: https://partners.stitcher.com/join ● Enter in your Podcast RSS URL ● It will ask you to verify the email ● Once verified your podcast is submitted! ● Takes 24-48 hours to show up on Stitcher ● Note: If you manage several podcasts, with different email addresses, open up a private window, otherwise it will submit the podcast under the wrong account.
5.YouTube (Extremely valuable if you film your podcast)
● Not a traditional podcast directory. How to get your audio files on YouTube: ● First, check to see if you can submit to YouTube through your hosting platform ● If not, you will need to syndicate your show by converting audio files into an MP4 files to upload to YouTube ● YouTube is a popular platform for listening to video podcasts. ● Record a video of yourself while you host the podcast. 7.Podchaser
First, create a profile then follow the instructions on how to submit your podcast to the directory. https://www.podchaser.com/creators/edit
8.TuneIn
Submit podcast here: https://help.tunein.com/contact/add-podcast-S19TR3Sdf, then check your email to approve.
9.Pocket Casts
