The Two German Teams with the Maserati MC12s will try to Excel in the Home Circuit

No. 1 - Bartels/Bertolini, Team (+ 20 kg - success ballast) No. 2 - Bernoldi/Ramos, Vitaphone Racing Team (+ 10 kg - success ballast) No. 33 - Heger/Mueller, Triple H Team Hegersport (+ 50 kg - success ballast) No. 34 - Pier Guidi/Longin, Triple H Team Hegersport

This is the sixth round of the FIA GT1 World Championship, resuming after the summer break and revving up for those runs at the famed Nuerburgring, Germany, racetrack.

The two German teams' Maserati MC12s are vying for the limelight in the home circuit, starting with no. 33 with its two German drivers and Alex Mueller, who obtained second place in the previous round in Spa, Belgium. Maserati no. 33 is after the third consecutive place in the podium.

Triple H Team Hegersport plans to pair up Alessandro Pier Guidi with Bert Longin at the wheel of the black-and-white Maserati no. 34, a move that needs to be approved by the authorities. The Italian driver is making a return to the FIA GT1 after his experience driving Maserati MC12s for Playteam and Vitaphone Racing Team.

The two other Maserati MC12s, which belong to Vitaphone Racing Team, will also be defending the German colors, with German driver Michael Bartels and the Italian . They are currently at the top of the general driver's standings, in addition to the team standings. This last was achieved thanks to the points earned by Bernoldi/Ramos's car no. 2, who came in fourth at the Spa Championship Race in July.
