Los Angeles, CA (Sept 13th, 2018) -- Tia Carrere is heading to Netflix. She will play Lady Danger in AJ and the Queen, a new original comedy series created by Michael Patrick King and RuPaul Charles.

AJ and the Queen stars RuPaul as Ruby Red, a down-and out drag queen who travels the country with her tough-talking 11-year-old stowaway AJ. Tia will play Ruby's arch-nemesis Lady Danger, an infamous figure in the local drag scene who injects cheap medical grade silicone, Restylane and Botox into her clients.

Tia was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She made her film debut after being discovered in a Waikiki grocery store, landing the female lead in the movie Aloha Summer. After moving to Los Angeles she scored her breakthrough role as Cassandra Wong, ’ girlfriend in Wayne's World, receiving international acclaim for her performance in the film. Memorable roles followed, including Tia’s villainous turn as arts and antiquities dealer Juno Skinner opposite in , and computer whiz Jingo Asakuma in Rising Sun with and .

Equally adept in dramatic, comedic and action-adventure roles, Tia went on to star in her own television series Relic Hunter, an internationally syndicated series featuring the exploits of globe-trotting archaeologist Sydney Fox.

Recent television work includes appearances on the acclaimed CBS show Blue Bloods as human trafficker Chao Lin, and roles on Hawaii 5-0, and Emmy-Award winning shows Nip/Tuck and . Tia also returned to her roots voicing the character of Nani in the Disney franchise Lilo & Stitch.

Tia’s passion for music has continued throughout her career. After the success of the multi-platinum Wayne’s World soundtrack, Tia released her first solo album Dream on Warner Bros Records, and has twice won the Grammy Award for Best Hawaiian Music Album.
