Fields joined Kronos, Inc. in 2017 with a diverse background in HCM initiatives such as training and development, change management, operations, strategic planning, and project delivery. Session Description: It’s often said that change is the only constant, and this could not be truer when it comes to the world of work. Afterall, 2020 has brought about immense changes in the way we communicate, collaborate, and interact with managers and peers alike. It may be tempting to sit back and watch how change unfolds, but the employee experience and employee motivation, productivity, and organizational citizenship is directly affected by deliberate change management strategies implemented—or not implemented, by companies. Maintaining the psychological contract plays a vital role in the success or failure of organizational changes and shifts. In this presentation we will discuss the concept of the psychological contract at work and explore the (often forgotten and misunderstood) exchange relationship that has a myriad of impacts from both the employee and employer viewpoints. -

This exciting collaborative project of National History Day and the Wisconsin Historical Society makes available on the World Wide Web more than 18,000 pages of eyewitness accounts of North American exploration. The website makes it possible for students, teachers, and anyone else who loves American history to read the actual words and, in many cases, see electronic copies, of more than 150 original documents produced by explorers, Indians, missionaries, traders, and settlers as they lived through the founding moments of American history. American Folklife Center & Veterans History Project Annual Report for FY2008
AMERICAN FOLKLIFE CENTER & VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT Library of Congress Annual Report, Fiscal Year 2008 (October 2007-September 2008) The American Folklife Center (AFC), which includes the Veterans History Project (VHP), had another productive year. Over a quarter million items were acquired by the AFC Archive, which is the country’s first national archive of traditional life, and one of the oldest and largest of such repositories in the world. About 240,000 items were processed, and thus made available to researchers at the Library and beyond. In addition, the Center continued to expand programming through symposia, concerts, and public lectures; by providing field school training to universities and international organizations; and by providing technical assistance to individuals and groups. AFC also continued to be a leader in international discussions concerning traditional culture and intellectual property, and the AFC director served as a member of US delegations to meetings convened by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), UNESCO, and the Organization of American States (OAS). Both AFC and VHP provided substantial services to Congress. The Veterans History Project (VHP) continued making major strides in its mission to collect and preserve the stories of our nation's veterans, receiving upwards of 100 collections a week and acquiring over 22,000 items. The maturation of the Project was reflected by its partnership with WETA-TV and PBS in their presentation of the Ken Burns film, The War, which told the story of World War II through the memories of individual veterans from four American towns. VHP also continued to foster solid working relationships with a wide variety of project participants nationwide, including the U.S. -

It is guided by the premise that the armed conflict in Afghanistan should be understood as being heavily inter- twined with regional politics. Its purpose is to serve as an overview of the negotiation environ- ment in Afghanistan and Central Asia. It identifies actors, interests, and relationships that are helpful to take into consideration when sequencing and orchestrating a peace process that could de-escalate the war in Afghanistan and help build a more stable and cooperative region. The ma- jority of the report focuses on relevant actors and their network of relationships, and the conclu- sion details three future scenarios and a set of recommendations that could facilitate a coordinat- ed negotiation process. The new Afghan Government of National Unity, led by President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, includes politicians with a broad range of ideological back- grounds and interests. While Ghani has spoken out in favor of peace negotiations with the Af- ghan insurgency, it is so far unclear if his efforts will be more successful than those of his prede- cessor. -

A total of 19 research proposals involving 21 students from six SCICU member institutions were awarded research grants Research Student Undergraduate totalling $67,854 in the spring of 2020. Project research concluded in December 2020. Student researchers will present their findings at the SCICU Research Symposium on February 18, 2021 – SCICU’s first-ever virtual symposium co-hosted by Converse College. Due to COVID-19 issues, five research projects funded for students at Claflin, Converse, Furman, and Newberry (combined funding of $17,929) were postponed until the 2021 research year. University of Southern Indiana ynapse FALL 2009 College of Nursing and Health Professions Where technology supports academic excellence S Letters During the past several months, as the interim provost, I have had the privilege of working with an expanded network of academic professionals and leaders. Particularly impressive is the visionary and strategic leadership of our new president, Dr. Linda L. M. Bennett. The challenges brought by cutbacks in state funding have been met head on by President Bennett and her administrative leadership team. The fiscal constraints, while limiting program expansions, have not hampered the emphasis on quality and support for teaching excellence. Enrollments are at an all-time high as is the quality of our freshmen and returning students. The support of alumni and University friends, particularly in this time of reduced state funding, is an important contribution to our University’s growing excellence. This is truly a time of success and excellence in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. All signs point to a future that is bright for both our college and our University.
