Climate Science: the Fifth IPCC Assessment Report Tuesday 15th October, 5.00 – 7.00pm Attlee Suite, Portcullis House One of the main IPCC activities is the preparation of comprehensive Assessment Reports about the state of scientific, technical and socio-economic knowledge on change, its causes, potential impacts and response strategies. The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), which will be released in phases from September 2013 to October 2014, will be the most comprehensive assessment of scientific knowledge on since AR4 in 2007. This joint Royal Society/ All Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change/POST event is an opportunity for Members, Peers and parliamentary staff to debate the Working Group 1 report, the Physical Science Basis, with key experts including: Professor Eric Wolff FRS, British Antarctic Survey; Professor Corinne Le Quéré, Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, University of East Anglia; Professor Keith Shine FRS, ; Professor Tim Palmer FRS, ; Professor John Mitchell FRS, University of Reading and Met Office; Professor Stephen Belcher, University of Reading and Head of the Met Office Hadley Centre, Professor Sir Brian Hoskins FRS, Director of the Grantham Institute on Climate Change, Imperial College and member of the Climate Change Committee.
