Persons desiring admission to the Radio and Television Galleries of Congress shall make application to the Speaker, as required by Rule 34 of the House of Representatives, as amended, and to the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate, as required by Rule 33, as amended, for the regulation of Senate wing of the Capitol. Applicants shall state in writing the names of all radio stations, television stations, systems, or news-gathering organizations by which they are employed and what other occupation or employment they may have, if any. Applicants shall further declare that they are not engaged in the prosecution of claims or the promotion of legislation pending before Congress, the Departments, or the independent agencies, and that they will not become so employed without resigning from the galleries. They shall further declare that they are not employed in any legislative or executive department or independent agency of the Government, or by any foreign government or representative thereof; that they are not engaged in any lobbying activities; that they *Information is based on data furnished and edited by each respective gallery. -

Matt O’Brien Hall of Fame Name: Dave Price Years: October 18, 1966 – Present Residence: Weston, Connecticut; New York, New York Brief Biography: Dave Price was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 18, 1966 to Helene and Lawrence Price making him one of four brothers. After graduating from Poughkeepsie High School, Dave attended Cornell University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations in 1987. Soon after he attended Columbia University and received his Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology in 1993. Following almost a decade in the human resources position of Pepsi-cola, Texaco and Taco Bell, Dave managed to find his way into the news industry as an anchor for a local Chicago News show, after losing 80 pounds and traveling coast to coast in search of a job. Soon after, in 1998, he joined “Good Day Philadelphia” on Fox, continuing as an anchor, before moving to “Good Day New York.” After his stint with Fox, Price moved to CBS in 2003 and began covering the weather for “The Early Show.” He has covered major weather events from Katrina to the earthquake and devastation in Haiti in 2010. In addition, he has covered various stories in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as major sports events throughout the U.S. His experiences have taken him across the globe and over 80 countries but he finds home in New York City and Weston Connecticut. In August 2010 he married his wife Jacqueline and they have a dog, Walley. In December, 2010, he announced his departure from CBS. -

Program available in classrooms nationwide through Channel One Connection Philadelphia, PA (January 3, 2012) – More than two decades ago, President Ronald Reagan declared Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a day to honor the life and legacy of one of the most inspiring figures in American history. In celebration of the profound accomplishments of Dr. King, the National Constitution Center presents Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Legacy of Service, the latest episode of the popular webcast series Constitution Hall Pass. Students will have the opportunity to explore Dr. King’s use of nonviolent protest and learn about other famous activists who drew inspiration from him. The episode will be available in classrooms nationwide throughout the months of January and February via Channel One Connection, a commercial-free educational programming resource available to Channel One Network member schools. Data were collected to measure the difference in current events knowledge between those students who viewed and discussed Channel One, and those students who had no access to the program. Data based on gender differences in student achievement was also measured. A 20-item multiple choice pre- and post-test was designed by the researcher and administered to eighth graders (n=78) in an urban high school near Atlanta, Georgia, during winter 2000. A school that contracts with Channel One receives a satellite dish, two videotape recorders for automatic recording of the televised broadcasts, and networked televisions. The daily feed is a 12-minute program, 10 minutes of news and features, and two minutes of advertisements. The contract runs for a 3-year period in which the school promises to show Channel One on 90% of all school days and in 80% of all classrooms. Currently, an estimated 8 million junior and senior high school students representing 12,000 schools view Channel One each day. -
