Safety & Security Comments

Champaign County If there is some way to make it safer to cross Miami Street & St Rt 68, that would be wonderful. Champaign County State Route crossings are dangerous! Champaign County The areas that are more secluded are fairly open and not over grown Clark County Blind spot and road crossing offer concerns Clark County It just depends who is on the trail. I have never seen any kind of security presence on the trail. Clark County South of Beatty Station & North of Springfield Clark County The people we met on the trail were very friendly Darke County Nobody can guarantee safety and security over such a wide area, but so far, we haven't observed any problems. This is between Gettysburg and Spiedel Road and the section between Hartzell and Willis Road. The path is great but the lack of continuity is very disruptive and not conducive to use by families with smaller children. This is the major problem with the Darke County trails! Darke County The trails are a great use of under-utilized land, and provide perfect opportunities for public recreation, exercise and healthy living. Please continue to add trails and connect them across the counties. Darke County There are spots between trails where we have to use public streets, which is not as safe for our younger kids. We would like to see paved trail connections established between the access at Lake Avenue and 571 all the way to Gettysburg as well as completing the path from 571 and Lake through Greenville. Greene County I love the trail, I have been an avid user for over 15 years. I think it would be great to have restaurants/food vendors close to the trail. I also think it would be great to have vending close to the trail of bike related items - in Colorado, you can purchase replacement tubes for tires and other items near or their trails. Greene County You guys do a great job. People do not know how lucky we are to have a trail system like we do. Greene County You have a marvelous trail system in the Miami Valley. Much better than anything in Indiana. I will return to ride more segments. My daughter, who lives in Columbus OH and often rides trails in this area first informed me of them. I then did some research on TrailLink. But the real prize is the "Miami Valley Ohio Bikeways Guide Map," a copy of which I got at Xenia Station. This is a first class map for my purposes (much better than the TrailLink maps because you can see the connections between the trails). I have already begun identifying additional trail segments that I might find interesting, The only suggestion I have is to add elevations (feet above sea level) to the station points on the map so we get some idea of the overall elevation changes along the route. Yesterday (9-20-17) I rode from Xenia to Yellow Springs and return, stopping in Yellow Springs for a nice lunch at the Winds Cafe. The trail was wonderful and so was the food. This is my style of riding. Good exercise, good scenery, and interesting places to eat. Xenia is close enough to where I live that I can ride your trails as a day trip although I have begun to think about an overnight stay - that is a possibility in the future. I was very impressed with the condition of the asphalt pavement of the trail - no cracks, potholes, etc. I was also impressed with the facilities (stations) at both locations. I was particularly impressed with the historical photos of the Xenia Station (showing the original railroads) inside the building. Greene County Your trail is awesome and easy to access from Ft. In Miami County the bike path is fabulous!! I only wish that more of the trees were identified along the path. We always enjoy seeing when the occasional tree has a tag identifying the species. It is the #1 "quality of life" amenity in the Dayton area for me Montgomery County I love this trial and some of the others I walk/ride. I see so many people on it. Between 4:30 and 7:30 that I consider it well used. The only thing I ever wish is that more security was present in the 4:30 to 7:30 timeframe. I used to see Vandalia & Park police in past years but not once in this year. I have used this trail for about 10 years now. Thank you for keeping it up.
