GOVT.P.G.COLLEGE, ALIRAJPUR ANNUAL REPORT 2018-19 Part I 1. The Principal’s Report (2 pages)- Highlights the key activities, events, and successes of the past year and briefly describes major new initiatives to be undertaken over the next year.

 Govt. P.G. College, Alirajpur establishment in year 1972. The college is affiliated to Devi Ahilya University, Indore (M.P.) .The accreditation of the college by NAAC with ‘B’ Grade in May 2017 and the recommendations valuable suggestions of the Peer Team have been the guiding force to bring quality in all spheres .It is worth mentioning that about 90% students studying here belong to SC and ST categories and out of them 85% are tribal’s belonging to very remote area. The college provides higher education in Arts, Science and Commerce disciplines in 18 academic program (3 in degree level, 11 in post-graduate level). The degree level program are B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. . At the P.G. level, the academic program include- M.Com. ; M.A. in Economics, Hindi, Political Science Sociology and MSW; M.Sc. in Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Computer Science in B.Sc. and Computer Application program in B.A. and B.Com. are also run under self-finance courses and are managed by college JANBHAGIDARI SAMITI . JANBHAGIDARI SAMITI is playing a very vital role in the all- round development of the institution. The SAMITI gives valuable suggestions and takes important resolutions for the academic and infrastructure development of the college.  The college has vibrant N.C.C., N.S.S., Swami Vivekananda Career Counseling Cell, Red Cross unit and Sports. Among the notable achievements, N.C.C. cadets are attending the Annual Training Camps, Thal Sainik Camps (TSC), All Trek and Army attachment camp etc. N.S.S. unit of the college is very much committed to instill the virtue of social service and moral values among the students.  Career Counseling Cell of the college plays an active role by organizing career guidance program and self-employment training program.  Students of the college have participated in different games at the state and university levels. We have a big play ground to outdoor games and many events are held in the institution every year.  Many student welfare schemes are there and provision of scholarship is the most notable like PRATIBHA KIRAN, GAON KI BETI, MMVY, Poor boys Fund and scholarship for S.C., S.T., and O.B.C. students.

Govt. P.G.COLLEGE, ALIRAJPUR one of the premier colleges of of Madhya Pradesh which is affiliated to DEVI AHILYA UNIVERSITY, INDORE (M.P.), established in year 1973 and it is UGC recognized under section 2f &12B as on dated 03 Nov 1987.The aims towards, offering quality education to its students, in fulfillment of all the specifications laid down by the University Grants Commission. The College has 14.5 acre land with own buildings . In the tribal region of Madhya Pradesh state it has been showing right direction to the youth since 1973, with to create necessary environment for its students to take up the formidable challenges in the society and to ensure social development. Over the years, the institution is exploring the hidden even of other districts of the state. It has produced alumni who have attained excellence as administrator, industrialist, Educationist, Bankers, Political leaders and teachers. This temple of higher education was assessed by NAAC in the month of May, 2017 and was accorded B Grade.

(iii) History of the college with significant milestones

 Govt. P. G. College, ALIRAJPUR established in year 1972 and taken over by the government in 1973  Science faculty in under graduation starts in 1983 with the subject PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHEMATICS, BOTANY and Zoology.  UGC recognized under section 2f &12B as on dated 03 Nov 1987 that time college was affiliated to VIKRAM UNIVERSITY, UJJAIN (M.P.) and since 1995 the college is affiliated to DEVI AHILYA UNIVERSITY, INDORE (M.P)  The College has 14.5 acre land with own buildings.  College JANBHAGIDARI SAMITI started working in the year1996  PG in Science with five subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology began in 2016-17  It has produced alumni who have attained excellence as administrator, Industrialist , Educationist, Bankers, Political leaders and teachers.  accordedThis temple to ofB +higher Grade education in cycle was -1 andassessed month by of NAAC May, in 22007017 andand waswas accorded B Grade in cycle -2.

Total 54 Senior Division cadets enrolled in this academic session under the dynamic leadership of caretaker Dr. PRADEEP KANESH and activities of this sub- unit include participation of cadets in Combined Annual Training Camp, All India Trekking expedition Camp, Army Attachment Camp , celebration of International Yoga Day, tree plantation and other activities as directed by the commanding officer of unit and department of higher education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. In this Session 10 girls also enrolled in NCC. 19 cadets enrolled for “B” certificate exam’s and only 16 cadets qualified in this exam. Only 1 cadets enrolled for “C” certificate exam and qualified. N.S.S The institute has introduced National Service Scheme as per the provision of D.A.V.V. It has one unit for boys and girls. A senior faculty member guides and organizes the NSS activities with student volunteers. Introduction of Social activity helps the student to come across the different problems of the society .It develops high moral character , quality leadership, discipline ,sportsmanship & the spirit of selfless service as a human being.

Career Counseling Cell

Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has already constituted Swami Vivekananda Career Cell in each college to cater the need of job opportunities and further to undertake job placements in the campus. Swami Vivekananda Career Cell in the college has been facilitated and enriched by adding competitive magazines journals, maps, globes, atlases and several associate books and required furniture’s with the financial assistance of UGC under schemes of career & Counseling Cell and Entry in service

 Extracurricular activities: Calendar of activities (Sports, Youth Festival, cultural and literary events), Achievements, Awards  The institution has N.C.C., N.S.S., Career Counseling Cell and Red  Cross to promote institution-neighborhood-community network and student engagement, contributing to good citizenship, service orientation and holistic development of students. These units perform social responsibility by their extension activities like camp in remote village and making the people aware of clean and healthy environment; blood donation , observing AIDS Day and rally in the city to awaken the people about the disease; celebrating International Women’s Day focusing on empowerment of women in the society, creating awareness on ‘voters day’, celebrating SADBHAVNA DIWAS (Good Will Day) to spread fellow feeling in the community, carrying out plantation work assisting govt. sponsored program etc.

1. Scholarships :- By the M.P. Govt. there are lots of scholarship program provided to the students. A. Post Metric Scholarship – In that scholarship for SC candidates 5,99,133/- Rs amount spend. In the scholarship program specially for SC UG & PG level candidates 94 got profit. For ST candidate 89,71,737/-Rs have spent . Total ST Students 1248 got profit. For OBC candidate 5,13,363/- amount have spend and in this program total 94 students got profit. NOTE:- MP TASS Scholarship portal late launched so Few First Year students scholarship process in sention .

B. GAON KI BETI YOJANA :- In this program 07 girls students got profit. In this program on each girls students 5,000/- Rs spent and Total 35,000/- Rs amount spent on this scheme.

C. PRATIBHA KIRAN SCHOLARSHIP YOJANA:- In this scheme 09 girls students have got profit and for this program 45,000/- Rs total amount spent.

D. MUKHAYMANTRI MEDHAVI VIDHYARTHI YOJANA :- In this scheme total 03 Students got profit. E. NIRDHAN KSHATRA SAHAYTA NIDHI:- In this scheme total 04 students got profit and for this program 12000/- amount spent .

2. Free book distribution for ST/SC candidate by the library :- In the scheme free books distributed and for Sc students 10,53,092/- Rs spent .In this scheme total 95 students got profit. For ST candidates 33,26,550/-Rs amount spent and in this scheme total 2745 students got profit.

3. CARRIER MELA:- In carrier Mela 80,000/-Rs amount spent and in this program 288 students got profit.
