Route Description: Ride along the very scenic Canal path from Skipton to Gargrave. Return on the train or back along the Canal: A fabulous family ride.

A: From the Car park head out the rear entrance and onto the Canal. Turn left and follow this under a couple of bridges as you pass through the Canal Basin.

B: You cycle along the well made path past a couple of canal swing bridges and head out of Skipton under the bypass road. The path becomes a single track with grass sides. CAUTION AS MUDDY WHEN WET

C: Just after going under the bypass you come to a third swing-bridge where you ride along a narrow path between the canal and the road. You pass through the gate or narrow style back onto the canal path.

D: Follow this and pass under the A59 road. In 1km and 2.5km you will pass two more swing bridges, but carry on the canal path.

E: You ride under the A65 and climb or walk up to the top of the lock and carry on into Gargrave. CAUTION: AS YOU RIDE UNDER ONE LOW AND NARROW BRIDGE

F: In 400meters you have to cross a road with gates on either side. Follow on the canal path for another 300meters to the next lock, bridge and road. You turn left here onto the highway and ride down into Gargrave village.
