Associate Head Coach: Jason Drake (9th year) The men come into the championships ranked 12th nationally after turning in a big performance Assistant Coach: Anita Campbell (4th year) at the West Regional Championships last Friday in Seattle. The Huskies finished second by just two points behind then-sixth-ranked Portland as Colby Gilbert (5th), Andrew Gardner (7th), 2016 Men’s Pac-12 Finish: 7th Andy Snyder (9th), and Mahmoud Moussa (18th) all earned All-West Region honors and all 2016 Men’s West Regional Finish: 10th seven Huskies finished in the top-31. 2016 Men’s NCAA Finish: N/A 2016 Women’s Pac-12 Finish: 2nd The women rank 22nd in the USTFCCCA poll entering the meet. Amy-Eloise Neale led the women’s team at Regionals with a third-place individual finish, and the Huskies finished sixth 2016 Women’s West Regional Finish: 2nd as a team, but did enough to move on to nationals. 2016 Women’s NCAA Finish: 12th Top-7 Men Returning/Lost: 7/0 Neale has now led UW at every race this season and the past nine races dating back to last Top-7 Women Returning/Lost: 4/3 year. Best Men’s Conference Finish: 1st (1993) Senior Izzi Batt-Doyle runs at a second-straight NCAA meet, as she was 109th last year, and Best Men’s Regional Finish: 1st (2015) sophomore Nikki Zielinski will try to better her 162nd-place finish from her freshman season. Best Men’s NCAA Finish: 4th (1989) Senior Anna Maxwell did not race at NCAAs last year but has a career-best finish of 107th from Best Women’s Conference Finish: 1st (1989, 2008, 2009) 2015. Junior Emily Hamlin also will run at NCAAs for the first time since 2015 and the second Best Women’s Regional Finish: 1st (1989, 1992, 2008, time of her career. The Dawgs will be without sophomore Kaitlyn Neal who had an injury at 2009, 2010, 2011) Regionals, so freshmen Allie Schadler and Kiera Marshall will look to step up at their first NCAA meet. Gilbert earned All-America honors that year with a 32nd-place finish, Gardner was 96th, 2005 (27th), 2006 (12th), 2008 (18th), 2009 (18th), and Stevens was 178th. 2014 (20th), 2015 (8th), 2017 Women’s NCAA Championship Appearances: The men have had four different No. 1 finishers this season, as Stevens started things off with 24 — 1982 (13th), 1989 (12th), 1992 (12th), 1994 a win at the Sundodger Invite, Gilbert led UW at the Dellinger Invite and Regionals, Gardner (15th), 1995 (14th), 1997 (14th), 1998 (9th), was the top Husky at the Wisconsin Invitational, and junior Mahmoud Moussa led the way at the Pac-12 Championships with a fifth-place finish in a big breakout run. Sophomore Andy 1999 (13th), 2000 (23rd), 2001 (14th), 2002 Snyder has also made huge gains this season, breaking into the UW top-five for the first time (31st), 2003 (19th), 2004 (23rd), 2007 (8th), at Wisconsin where he was 91st, and then making the top-10 at the Regional meet. 2008 (1st), 2009 (3rd), 2010 (16th), 2011 (2nd), 2012 (9th), 2013 (17th), 2014 (23rd), 2015 (10th), Washington has also received a big lift from a pair of true freshmen this season, as Talon Hull 2016 (12th), 2017 and Tibebu Proctor are set to run at their first NCAA Championships. Hull had an impressive run at the Dellinger early in the year, taking 13th, and then ran well at Pac-12s in 29th-place Athletic Communications after coming back from an ankle sprain that caused him to miss Wisconsin.
