Smile was originally planned as the follow-up to the band's 1966 classic Pet Sounds, but the material was mostly abandoned due to creative mastermind Brian Wilson's fragile mental health at the time. Though no release date has been set, the official release of Smile will be sold as a two-CD set and as a deluxe box set including four CDs, two vinyl LPs, two vinyl singles and a 60-page hardbound book penned by Beach Boys historian Dominic Priore. The final track listing has not been announced, but disc one of the CD set and the first three sides of the vinyl edition will contain a close approximation of the Smile album, with the remainder collecting outtakes and alternate versions from the sessions. The Smile sessions have been widely bootlegged among fans for decades, but the proper track listing for the album has never been established, largely due to the fact that the record was never completed as intended. According to engineer Mark Linett, Brian Wilson's 2004 version of Smile has been used as the template for this project, though it could turn out a bit different depending on input from Wilson and the surviving members of the group.

  • Pacific Ocean Blue Bambu
Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue Produced by Dennis Wilson & Gregg Jakobson Released August 22, 1977 - Caribou PZ 34354 (CBS) Pacific Ocean Blue - Legacy Edition Originial Recordings Produced by Dennis Wilson & Gregg Jakobson Bonus Tracks Produced by Dennis Wilson, John Hanlon & Gregg Jakobson Executive Producer: James William Guercio Released June 17, 2008 - Caribou/Epic/Legacy 88697-07916-2 (Sony/BMG) Disc One Dennis Wilson had always been considered the quintessential "Beach Boy": not in a musical sense (that, of course, was Brian), but in a lifestyle sense. His love of surfing inspired the others to adopt the image that launched the band, and his further adventures in the worlds of fast cars, fast bikes, and fast women continued to fuel the imagination and song catalog of his older brother and cousin. But in the first five or six years of their career, his musical contributions were limited to drumming and singing backup (and sometimes not even that), with an occasional lead vocal opportunity (either covers of other artists or new songs that Brian and Mike would throw his way). However, with Brian Wilson's retreat from full artistic control of the band in 1967, the other members (Dennis included) began to be relied upon more and more for compositional and production efforts. Dennis' first contributions in this respect appear on the 1968 Friends album, and would continue over the next five years; tunes like "Little Bird", "Be With Me", "Celebrate The News", and "Forever" were highlights of the late '60s-early '70s Beach Boys era. In order for Dennis to evolve musically into something more than "just the fun-loving playboy drummer", he needed to master a melodic/chordal instrument well enough to compose on it.

Hodel certifies that this is the approved version of the following dissertation: SECRET SUPERSTARS AND OTHERWORLDLY WIZARDS: Gender Biased Hiding of Extraordinary Abilities in Girl-Powered Disney Channel Sitcoms from the 2000s Chair: Germaine Halegoua, Ph.D. Date Approved: 25 January 2017 ii ABSTRACT Conformity messaging and subversive practices potentially harmful to healthy models of feminine identity are critical interpretations of the differential depiction of the hiding and usage of tween girl characters’ extraordinary abilities (e.g., super/magical abilities and celebrity powers) in Disney Channel television sitcoms from 2001-2011. Male counterparts in similar programs aired by the same network openly displayed their extraordinariness and were portrayed as having considerable and usually uncontested agency. These alternative depictions of differential hiding and secrecy in sitcoms are far from speculative; these ideas were synthesized from analyses of sitcom episodes, commentary in magazine articles, and web-based discussions of these series. Content analysis, industrial analysis (including interviews with industry personnel), and critical discourse analysis utilizing the multi-faceted lens of feminist theory throughout is used in this study to demonstrate a unique decade in children’s programming about super powered girls.

  • Beu Sisters Bio ~
Christie, Danielle, and Candice Beu ~ Beu Sisters Bio ~ “Our inspirations come from the universal one song of LOVE. Through unity, ingenuity, creativity, joy and grace, we hope to heal lives and touch hearts.” ~ Beu Sisters Born into a musical family, Candice, Christie and Danielle Beu learned from an early age to appreciate and understand all aspects of the entertainment industry. The sisters, encouraged by their parents, Broadway veterans (“A Chorus Line”), steadily developed their collective and individual talents. In 1988, the Beu family (parents and eight siblings) left the bright lights of New York City for the serene sounds of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. By the end of the ‘90s, the parents divorced and the sisters unified through music, performing on stage with their mother, opening for major artists like Billy Ray Cyrus and Bo Diddley. They soon came to the attention of Award-Winning Songwriter Desmond Child (Kiss, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith). He introduced them to Record Producer Steve Greenberg and the sisters became the second act signed to S- Curve Records. In 2002, their debut album “Decisions” was released and received rave reviews. Billboard Magazine wrote, “While the environment for instantly accessible melodic music is often hostile at top 40 radio these days, one must remain optimistic that true talent will rise to the top. THE BEU SISTERS demonstrate enormous versatility on their upcoming, DECISIONS. All involved should pop the champagne cork for an effort that radiates joy, humor, passion, and artful, unaffected singing. These

  • Beach Boys Edited Studio
The Beach Boys - The Beach Boys Today! Produced by Brian Wilson Released March 1, 1965 - Capitol T-2269 (EMI) This album marked a turning point in the career of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys, and proved to be the opening salvo of a triumvirate of longplayers (excluding Party !) that defined their status as premier pop artists on a level with The Beatles. A few of the cuts had been completed in the summer and fall of '64, but the bulk of the album was recorded in the winter months following Brian's retirement from the road. Brian's composing skills had progressed beyond garage band "formula" writing, into the realm of what one might call "orchestrated rock". This was also the album where the scope and sheer musicality of Brian's arrangements necessitated the employment of outside musicians to a greater extent. As Carl put it in a 1981 interview for "Circus" magazine (reprinted in the September 1989 issue of "Guitar for the Practicing Musician"), "By the time of Beach Boys Today , there were a lot of prominent session men on the dates". Having said that, one should not sell short Carl's own contributions; the youngest Wilson (who just turned eighteen that December) had developed as a musician sufficiently to play alongside the horde of high-dollar session pros that big brother was now bringing into the studio. Carl's guitar playing on this album is a key ingredient, and in fact this is the most "guitar heavy" of the Boys' post-surf era albums. In a really cool stroke of programming genius, the album is divided into one side of rockers and one side of ballads (a technique probably inspired by two 1961 albums: the Everly Brothers’ Both Sides of an Evening and Elvis’ Something for Everybody , and one later utilized by The Rolling Stones on their 1981 Tattoo You album, but one which has lost much of its impact in today's CD-orientated world).
