Commitment Weekend Dear Friends in Christ, February 7-8 This year, I will celebrate my third anniversary as Follow-up Weekend Archbishop of Baltimore, and, with each passing February 14-15 day, I am presented with fresh reminders of how we, as a local Church, readily welcome our Lord and His message of love into our hearts in order to nurture and share it with our neighbors. Each year, we are given another opportunity to reflect our Lord’s message of love in the form of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. The theme for this year’s Appeal, Go Make Disciples, taken from the Gospel of Matthew (28: 19-20), was chosen because it highlights the crucial need for evangelization for Prayer both the universal Catholic Church, and for us here, more locally, in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. for the 2015 Archbishop’s Annual Appe al We make disciples when we celebrate Mass and the Sacraments in our parishes, when our Priests visit the ill or comfort those in need of spiritual solace, and when we radiate O Lord, Giver of life and Source the joy of our faith to our neighbors. It is important to remember that – with up to half of freedom, of every Appeal gift being directed to the parish of its donor – the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal helps to ensure that our Catholic communities remain beacons of hope for so I know that all I have received many of our faithful servants. is from Your hand. Making Disciples through Parish Partnerships The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal continues to unite our communities of Faith, bringing them together to serve God and form disciples. Parish Partnerships occur when Pastors decide to share a portion of their Annual Appeal Parish Share Rebates with underserved Parishes or schools within, or outside, the Archdiocese of Baltimore. When you support the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, you help to sustain and grow these collaborations, enabling needy parishes and schools to receive necessary funding to help cover the cost of ministry expenses, provide tuition assistance, or manage parish capital improvement projects that would otherwise remain unfunded.

Parish Partnerships are current through December 2014. 2015 Parish Partnerships are subject to change. 2015 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Parish Goals The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal began in 1992 under the direction of Cardinal William H. Keeler and was first known as the Archbishop’s Lenten Appeal. Since inception, the Appeal has raised over $100 million dollars – funding over 25 vital programs and ministries of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The 2015 appeal goals listed below are set at 9% of each parish’s offertory giving for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. Unlike other Dioceses in the United States, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal shares appeal funds with each and every parish within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Parishes are awarded one-quarter of all funds collected up to goal, then one-half of all funds collected after goal has been reached. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Appeal is applied to your parish’s goal. Each parish is able to use rebate funds to support specific ministries, and objectives of their choosing.
