FEDORA PLATFORM FEDORA PLATFORM FEDORA presents innovative opera and ballet projects all over Europe to local audiences while acting as a European quality label standing for the renewal and rejuvenation of these art forms.

Over the past five years, FEDORA has invested €1 million, in 10 new opera and ballet projects that have been co-produced by 65 cultural institutions in 15 countries and reached over 100,000 young people with over 200 performances. Last year, over 15,000 votes were registered on the FEDORA Platform. By 2021, FEDORA will lead the way in advocating new complementary funding models for the performing

IMPACT arts, by building an ecosystem of private and public support to sustain the performing arts industry which is necessary to guarantee the future of opera and ballet in Europe. Its on- and offline communication campaign has the potential to reach 4 million people.

FEDORA is a non-profit organization, federating 80 cultural institutions in 20 countries, committed to supporting and contributing to the future of opera and ballet. The association was founded in 2014 in Paris, under the presidency of Jérôme-François Zieseniss, as a tribute to Rolf Liebermann. FEDORA’s main goal is to encourage innovation in the fields of opera and ballet through philanthropy.

In furtherance of this aim, it raises funds to support the creation of new opera and ballet co-productions through the privately funded FEDORA - GENERALI Prize for Opera, FEDORA - VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Prize for Ballet and the new FEDORA Education Prize that encourages artistic co-operation between opera houses, ballet companies, festivals, and artists while reaching out to new audiences. The projects are pre-selected by Opera Europa, the professional association of opera houses and festivals in Europe, and RESEO, the European network for arts education and creative learning, and a jury of experts selects the winners of the FEDORA Prizes. Moreover, FEDORA offers its members special access to opera houses and festivals in Europe and thereby builds a network of philanthropists FEDORA - THE EUROPEAN FEDORA - THE EUROPEAN CIRCLE OF PHILANTHROPISTS OF OPERA AND BALLET who share the same values and support opera and ballet on a European level. Clotilde Corsini, based in Florence, is the organization’s Vice-President. Jean-Yves Kaced, the Director of the AROP - The Association of Friends of the Paris National Opera, is the Secretary General, and Peter Espenhahn, who is based in London, is FEDORA’s Treasurer. Dr Léone Noëlle Meyer and Gianmarco Monsellato are Founding Members. Edilia Gänz is the Director of FEDORA. In 2017 FEDORA received the “Philanthropy Award” at the International Opera Awards.
